If I could describe the smell of the bathrooms I would but there are no words for how horrible the experience was. I thought maybe somebody just had a really bad stomach ache and that's completely fine. After eating and hanging around I had to use the restroom again. It was over an hour later and the bathroom smelled just as bad from the first time. I strongly believe the drainage pipes are broken and the smell is lingering all over. My sister explained that there was water flooding out of the pipes when she flushed the toilet in the women's bathroom. Not only that but all the toilets had urine all over the seats. OH AND THE FOOD... I would give it a 3 out of 10. None of the food has good taste nor taste fresh.

The place has the worst customer service. They don't know how to talk to their customers. They are very rude. Especially the manager that is a lady. One of her employees sat our party of 20 in a spot there was reserved for a different party. We didn't know that until that wedding party showed up. All of us are eating and only have been seated for 30 minutes when this lady come barging towards our group and demanding we move now. My auntie was very pissed at this point and told her we will not move since we are all in the middle of eating. The lady continued to argue with our group! We moved but left our plates on the table to get new ones. My sister had caught her and put her in her place. My advice, take your money else where. There's lots of buffets at the Bay Area. Cross this place off your list. Not worth spending your hard earned cash here.

I have seen this place before and was not sure if I really wanted to try it. I love sushi and sushi buffets but did not think I would like the place. Well finally I went there for a party and was thinking today is the day I see if I like this place. It looked clean and tidy and looked decent until I got the food. I have been to sushi buffets and other kinds of buffets before but this was really bad. The sushi was really small and did not taste that good. The Chinese food was super salty too. It was not good at all. I tried the oysters and they were super slimy and had lots of sand in them. It was gross. Plus to get the attention of the waiters to help get you a drink was pretty much impossible. I would not recommend going to this place at all.

Went here for my graduation lunch celebration. Could not have been more disappointed with this place. Only reason why I didn't give this 1 star was because service was really nice and quick for our party ~40. Food was just blah. Nothing seemed fresh EVEN IF they just came out. Food was all warm at best. Hot and Sour soup was just soup...it was neither hot or sour. WTF? Sushi was bland and everything basically was a California roll. Crab meat EVERYWHERE. The rice was dry as well. Yeah.... Probably never coming back here unless they get their shit together. There's better options available right now.

I have been here before, but today I saw an abandoned plate with food above the dim sum and salmon fish. On my second trip for food, the abandoned plate was still there, but this time I saw a worker pick it up and ask another worker if he knew where it was from. They didn't know, so he picked it up and dumped it back into the main serving areas for people to eat. I am against wasting food, but this is unsanitary.

Worst sushi buffet I ever gone to. The sushi taste fishy and old, food has no flavor. defiantly not worth $15 for lunch, biggest waste ever. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I would give This place a negative star. I made a yelp just to write on how horrible this place was to warn ppl

I gave it a shot tonight after reading all the bad reviews thinking that people might have been exaggerating... NOT AT ALL! I found an insect roaming around my plate when I picked it up from the clean pile. There's plenty of variety, but not much quality. For the $20 that I paid for dinner during the week without tip, I expected MUCH more. To top it off, when I requested the students discount that they advertise on their website ( mizuumibuffet.com/about-… , "15% OFF Student Discount( must present ID)") the waiter came back after talking to the manager that it's only for students on "summer break". With such an excuse, just paid the full price and decided to never come back again to such a horrible place. There's plenty of amazing places in the complex, go anywhere else but here!

I give this place an alright 3 star rating. I wish I could have given this place a higher rating but I just can't. There needs to be more variety of authentic asian food, most of the food in here except the sushi is wayy to common and Americanized this is an "Authentic" Seafood & Sushi buffet so serve authentic non Americanized food! The waiters are fairly attentive to the guests but they always give you that "hurry up and leave " vibe, I resent that. It's a family friendly restaurant at least might bring my wife and kids again sometime.

Sigh. I came here for dinner with my boyfriend and I was beyond disappointed. Although I already knew the ratings were low, I came here with an open mind. The food is mediocre, average for a buffet. The sushi wasnt really fresh, and the selection was poor. Whatever, I was ready to pay and leave. When we got the check, it was 43$! For two people?! Are you kidding me?! Oh hell no. I was expecting around 25-40$ So lucky we had enough money to pay for it! But there goes the money for dessert. :( I will never come here ever again. No thanks.

I saw the reviews for this place when they first opened and had no plans of ever visiting, but it was a friend's birthday and his family wanted to go here. The place looked very clean and was physically attractive inside. I tried both the sushi and the chinese food and did not like either. It was probably one of the grossest sushi buffets I've ever been to. The food did not look or taste fresh. I'm glad I didn't get food poisoning. I probably would had been really disappointed if I actually paid for it. I would not go here ever again, even if it was free for me again.

I'm a big fan of this place as it has some the best sushi ever! This place is always packed, and I mean always. I love all the Sushi here! They have a Chocolate fountain for the Marshmallows, amazing! Very classy place! Waiter service, food selections and availability need improvement but this could be caused because of how packed it is. Always appreciate their coupons. Great Sushi place, you have to be lost to not find this place.

Typical buffet. Quality at it's lowest but if you're there to be stuffed I guess it's ok for you. It's always given that sushi and buffet will never ever mix. Seafoods are all bland and they all taste the same. You could tell that it was previously frozen. I rated it 2 because the service deserves it another star. It could have been better but they weren't bad.

Mizuumi is located on Decoto Rd in Union City not far from Fremont and offers a wide array of all you can eat food ranging from Japanese, Chinese, and American food. If you are hungry, you will not be unsatisfied because it offers just about everything from sushi, sashimi, cooked oysters, raw oysters, chow mein, soup, brocolli beef, beef rib bones, cooked fish dishes, vegetable rice dishes, and sorts of other goodies and the expected condiments like Sriracha Sauce, ginger, an egg, soy sauce, etc. There are also plenty of dessert options from pudding, fruits (honey dew, canteloupe, water melon, pineapple, cookies, cakes frozen yogurt, etc.). The overall atmosphere is bright, clean, and a rather open, even elegant modern decor that is sociable and child friendly. Getting seated is pretty fast and eating is fast too as the staff are very efficient in getting you seated and are very accomodating in terms of clearing empty plates so that you can grab more food. All in all the quality here is hit or miss. If you're hungry, you won't be satisfied, but if you're looking for hot fresh food, that all depends on your timing. I strongly suggest you avoid food that looks as if it's been out there awhile and advise that you eye when food is replaced as the quality of those foods are better. Although I thought the cooked oysters were ok, the raw oysters tasted on the verge of not being fresh. They didn't smell bad, but had a strong seafood aftertaste. The desserts for the most part seemed rather bland and weren't that special. I did enjoy the cooked crab and didn't mind the cooked chinese dishes. I couldn't for the life of me dare to try the sushi or sashimi for some reason as it looked as if it had been out there for some time. All in all, not a bad place, but in general it seems that buffets are better in places like Vegas or Reno where the food turn around and hunger demand is much greater. However at $16-$20/person, you won't leave with an empty stomach.

People, please stop to complain! Someone read the reviews to me, I almost did not go to an eightieth birthday party! My way to think, wanted to go, next time to see them may not be pleasnt experience, may not be happy experience, if you know where I going with that! There was authentic food here! Chow fun, now nom, squid with the head, legs, tentacles, various sushi! No, unlike many the reviews, I did not get ill! Any place has squid with head legs tentacles, my kind place to eat! Non Asian people think squid is, and I tried, all their version looks like hamburger patties! Sheraton in Sacramento right, correct! Too many people rather to complain than to write positive! No wonder they call me Celebrity Guest, I always give big fat TEN!

A friend at the gym told me of this buffet, so my wife and I had to give it a try for a lunch meal. We both love buffets and Japanese food. The sushi was very good and many to choose from. The fin soup was tasty and hot. The salads were very good and also plenty. The hostess, Michelle, was having a hard time with a customer who was arguing about the price on his bill for three people. He was very rude, loud, and using bad language. Michelle remained calm, polite and tried her best to serve the customer. I could see there was no way he was going to leave happy. I feel Michelle did her best to handle the situation. Our server was Eddie. He was prompt and very polite. Overall, the food is very good and plentiful. A sushi lovers paradise. The restrooms were clean and well outfitted. We will be back for a dinner meal real soon.

This buffet is not really a good place to eat unless you get invited to a reception here. I wouldn't willingly pay to eat here. First of all the food is not really that great. That have a variety of seafood, but none of it really excited your tastes buds or makes you want to get more. There's only three choices of soup and I would say that the miso is my favorite. However, the soup tastes like any other soup so nothing new. I think they need to hire more chefs and servers because it the food takes quite awhile to be refilled. The waiters and waitresses aren't really friendly and they rarely check on you even when it's not busy. They take a long time come around and see if your beverages need refills. There's nothing really exciting about this place and wouldn't recommend people to go here for good seafood. Like I said, I would only go here if it was for free.

I know a lot of people aren't fans of buffets. No one is twisting your arm to eat here. That being said, enjoy the fact that tiny little flies are abuzz on the room temperature food items. I opted for the stir-fry of the steak and noodles.

I was out rolling around with my Favorite Uncle. We were out doing the Gangsta Lean in his T-Bird. We were a little Famished so we stopped at Mizuumi to give them a try. Mizuumi is a fairly new Asian Buffet. Its nicely decorated and brightly lit. When we entered we were greeted and seated. We tried the Buffet . Lots of different Sushi Rolls -Average in quality. The Clams in Black Bean sauce was good . The Dim Sum and Crab were good also . Everything else was Average to Below Average . The Desserts were average. I hope they get their Food quality issues worked out or they wont be in business to long. I wont be back.

So my review is going to be a bit different from the other ones I see on here - I liked eating here and I would go back. I came here on Saturday around 12pm and the place wasn't packed. We were greeted and seated promptly, our drinks orders placed, and we set out to do some damage. The crowds steadily filtered in soon after and, by the time we left, the place was packed. The buffet and seating area are clean and well organized. The buffet had sushi rolls, nigiri, seafood (oysters, mussels, crawfish, etc), standard Chinese food, Dim Sum, soup station, Korean station, fruit section, dessert station, a chocolate fondue, and an ice cream machine (which broke right before I was about to get some D=). I mainly ate nigiri and skipped the Chinese dishes and sushi rolls. I had about 2 and half plates of really fresh nigiri (feeling fine the day after) that would have probably costed me at least $30 if I ordered at a restaurant. I also tried some oysters and mussels, and they were fresh as well. For soup, I had a bowl of fin soup and a bowl of miso - both were on point. For dessert, I had some strawberries, baked goods, and chocolate covered marshmallows. Overall, this place is clean (I did not set foot into the restroom, though), and a solid spot for seafood. They frequently restocked the dishes and our finished plates were taken away promptly. I would definitely revisit this place in the future. Keep your eyes out for their coupons in the mail!

I think the detractors to this place were just disappointed that Hometown Buffet disappeared. Their ghetto stomach just couldn't accept Americanized Japanese-Chinese Cuisine. They all need to go live in Japan if they want perfect Sushi. Sheesh. Anyways, I had a great dinner here with my husband. I was happy that they had a lot of varieties from Sushi to their Gourmet section. Crawfish, raw oysters, clams, crabs, even frog's legs! I loved their seaweed! Wonderful dimsum and Mongolian style noodles that they would cook to order for you. Desserts and fruits were abundant as well. I'd rather eat here than the new Yama Fuji Sushi Boat near Stevensons Blvd. It's cheaper with more varieties and no creepy staff. It is indeed sad that there are Yelpers who bash businesses here just because they can. I know I have done so in the past, but I had authentic reasons. But these Yelpers' accusations were just not right. After eating eight plates, you would write the food was bad and the place not good? Grow up. Perhaps their Anger Management lessons tell them to release their pent up moods and write reviews. No wonder they have stomach issues. I didn't get sick after eating here. There were no gummy rice on my rolls. All I can say is that if you can't tolerate a restaurant's decor, eat at home. It's not an interior design place. It's a restaurant. You eat then go. I will definitely go back here to eat more of their dishes.

My friend took me here today for lunch. They have so many varieties of food and dessert. They are really different than other buffet places in the area. They offer seafood for lunch which surprises me since other place only offer seafood at dinner time. Another thing that I think is really interesting is they make their chow mein to order. You can pick vegetables, meats, seafood and sauce then give to the chef! Why only 3 stars...???? Bad customer service...especially chefs. Sushi chef was kinda rude to me, I tried to order hand rolls with him( they will only make hand rolls if you order then regarding to a sign on the counter) and he asked ' what you want?' So I said 1 salmon hand roll and 1 eel hand roll please.... He didn't say anything and just turned away so.... I waited waited and finally I said I will be right back. He looked at me. So I went to grab other stuffs and came back ..again waited waited patiently...he said come back 5 mins with his finger pointing toward table area :( 20 minutes later, I went to grab more food and looked at his table.... No hand rolls at all. I gave up...I didn't need much rice anyway.... My friend also said the chow mein chef wasn't nice either.... I don't know...... Should they be nicer? Or is it just their way to communicate? Anyway,,,,, price is cheap, plenty of parking spots and good.

Food is not good. If you insist on eating her, get the Mongolian stir fry where you select your protein, veggies and side and they will cook it for you. Sushi is old and not fresh. All the cooked food are either too salty or not enough flavor. I gave one extra star for the clean restaurant and friendly wait staff.

The price for the buffet is not bad $18.95 for lunch and this includes seafood. They have a variety of food which I am really surprised that are not found in other Asian buffets. They had crab legs, crab, crawfish, frog legs and snails which I was surprised. They also have a Mongolian Grill too. The soup has all sort of varieties, Miso, Fin soup (fake shark fin soup), hot and sour. Well unfortunately, the food is really salty and more does not always mean better. The food I liked the snails and orange chicken. The Mongolian grill did not have anything to pick the meat, so I decided to pick the meat by the chopsticks. The food gives you a lot of gas too. The kim chee and salad were pretty bad as it was bland and dull. The sushi was pretty gross I though. They did have a bunch of mixed roll, but the crunch roll was soggy. I probably would not go back here again :(, but only if it is a family outing. Go before noon as it will get crowded and the wait is long.

Compared to Kome and Moonstar in Daly City, this place is subpar. Not many selections and food doesn't look fresh. Only came here for baby's birthday. Btw, their baby changing table/pull down thing is way high up on the wall...not great for 5ft or under moms. Safety hazard!

I heard about this place from my daughter and I was very impressed, we've been to a lot of Buffet's in the area and all over and it's the second best we've been to. That's from Reno to Fremont. We will be driving the extra mile to eat here, Keep up with the good work!!!!!

If I can give negative stars I would. Perhaps the worst buffet experience ever. Here are my reasons why you should go elsewhere: 1. It's always a bad sign when the indoor temperature is warm - for sushi restaurant. 2. The quality of sushi and sashimi were horrible. It's bad sign when your sushi and sashimi are slimy, and the fish color looks old or colored. 3. The buffet table were dirty and slimy. And it doesn't help the appetite to watch workers cleaning them with dirty rags. 4. The sushi rolls were small and looked unidentifiable. How you do sushi rolls are so fundamental to any "sushi" restaurant that if you can't do a good job in presentation and the actual taste, you shouldn't call yourself "sushi" restaurant. It's insulting to Japanese and customers. 5. Even the hot dish sections were not appetizing. It doesn't help when you don't stock up with freshly cooked food, but to see empty trays that look like they were sitting there for hours. The ones that I did taste were so salty. 6. Unclean plates. 7. Expensive for the quality. I wouldn't go back even if they pay me to eat there. I was disappointed tonight. You would think the place would be packed on Friday night but a lot of empty tables - not a good sign. My biggest complain = nasty food. What a joke to call the place sushi and seafood buffet. Eat at your own risk!

Two stars for the chocolate fountain but they don't have much to dip tho. No stars for the freaking flan. Omg have they tasted flan before? It doesn't even taste like flan. Sushi was okay. Baked salmon was my favorite. Not sure if I'd come back tho.

some people just don't understand. You don't go to a cheap buffet and ask for service like in a high class restaurant . ; You don't complain the restroom is too dirty, that's why you can get a cheap deal, fool. If you do,you have come to the wrong place Long story short, came several times for weekend lunch. Get plates and plates of rather fresh crabs for a decent price. deserves a 3 stars. period.

  • Viet N.

Mizuumi definitely has a decent selection of sushi. In fact, if I remember correctly, there were about...15+ different rolls of sushi and nigiri? I remember trying to eat 2 of every roll, but not having enough room in my stomach to do so -___-. ANYWAY, the sushi were decent, since there was more of the actual fish meat than rice. The rest of the offerings were okay...crab legs were popular. But for the most part, nothing really stood out. But then again, buffets shouldn't have to amaze you. As long as you achieve the "bang for your buck" objective and fill your stomach in the process, what more can you really ask for?

Food: my favorite was the sashimi, sea bass, and seaweed salad. Everything else was average. Service: the waiters are very attentive and the hostess was very nice. Coupons/discounts: coupons are available on Facebook. For birthdays, come with a party of 4 or more and the birthday boy/girl will get a free meal. With the coupon deal, the price isn't bad for what you get at this buffet.

Came to Mizuumi as we had 15 adults and a toddler for a double birthday celebration. The wife had called 4 days prior to advise the restaurant that we had a big group coming in for lunch on Saturday and they said not a problem; she also specified that we all had to sit together and whoever answered the phone said that was fine. Fast forward to today (Saturday 04/26). Arrived at the restaurant about 1210p; most of our party had already sat down. First thing we noticed was that they were seated way in the back, far from the food. Instead of a big table for all of us, we were split into three different tables. When inquiring as to what happened to the "big" table we requested, the only answer given was that was the only space available for the amount of people that we had. Adding insult to injury, we were told that we only had until 2pm to eat lunch then we would be kicked out because there was to be a bigger party sitting in the section we were already at. After a few "colorful" exchanges with the supposed owner, Michelle, we were appropriately moved closer to the food so that we wouldn't be asked to leave by the 2pm deadline we were told about. Now it would've been fine and dandy that we were closer to the food; unfortunately, we were seated closer to the where they bus the plates in and out of the kitchen so not only did we have to contend with growing crowd of patrons but we had to make sure we weren't in the line of fire of the kitchen staff coming in and out with both clean and dirty tableware. Service: D- (waited at least 30 mins to have our waters refilled as well as waiting to have our stack of plates and silverware picked up) Food selection and quality: C- (have had better food and more choices at Hometown Buffet) Price: C- (12.95 for lunch; pretty high especially when lacking food choices) All in all, not a very promising start for this buffet which we've never really heard of until now.

I didn't get a chance to read the comments before I came in. Everyone is right this place deserves less than a star. The food is that basic horrible buffet food. Some of the food is cold. The rice is hard on all of the sushi. Service is horrible, I am currently eating here now and not a single dish has been picked up. My family and I are disgusted with this place they call a restaurant.

I would give it negative stars if i could. This place is a total joke. Food has no taste in it. And theres a lot of MSG in it. I should have check out yelp prior to coming in here. Sushi taste so bad that it almost taste like shit if i know how shit taste like. But honestly i would never come back here unless they replace the chefs. I should have listen to my gf and come to wingstop instead.

Sushi here sucks. Miso soup here also sucks. Tempura is old and soggy, sashimi was not fresh. They boast that they'll serve request rolls, but when I requested one, they refused? Okay then. Bathroom smells HORRIBLE. No refills. Come onnnnn.

WARNING: Comment might create disgusting imagery for readers. This review is meant to share my experience. - Poor food quality (tasted like the seafood has been out for a very long time and the other food tasted as though it was frozen cooked). - Very expensive (even with the coupon) for poor quality food. - Restaurant was very humid (which may explain the reason why the seafood tasted horrible). - Outrageously very poor customer service. Rude and inconsiderate from the waiters and the cashier or manager woman. Mizuumi Sushi Buffet was the worse service I had in my entire life (not exaggerating, PLEASE read below). Today (Friday) on May 9, 2014 at 1:34 PM, I came to Mizuumi Sushi on a empty stomach since it's a buffet. Within less than an hour of eating their sushi, I got a stomach ache; I went out of their "emergency exit" (the two doors that is located on the far left of the restaurant that didn't say emergency exit); and threw up all the food I ate outside. The staff did nothing to help and didn't even wonder/ask about my well-being. My brother and I decided that I should go home while our parents were still there eating (some reason it didn't affect them). At home, I had constant diarrhea (very yellow). After an hour and a half later, I got a phone call from my parents saying that the cashier/desk lady said that I they would still charge my meal despite what just happened to me. My brother and I drove back and the lady still did not believe me, so I had to show her where I threw up and I literally had to pick up the food that I threw up to show that was my proof, which I got a FINALLY got a refund. Eating here was a the worse decision of my life. The food was very expensive despite it being made out of frozen seafood and I had to experience a horrible feeling of vomiting and picking it up just to get a refund.

If I could I wouldn't even give it one star! The sushi rice was super hard and they all tasted the same! It's as if they put it out in the morning and we are the ones who came in and finally ate the food. You get what you paid for when your trying to get cheap sushi. Literally.

I did not want to use the restroom because I saw it kind of gross looking on the reviews. Well, I finally had to go and it was no joke, the same toilet brush which was posted months ago still sits under the sink in the women's restroom. The restaurant itself seems pretty clean, so it's so suprising to see the bathroom neglected like that. There was no more soap in both dispensers and it was only 4P. I suggest they get a regular cleaning schedule going in there even though I did notice it's already hard for them to keep replenishing food in the buffet. As far as the food, it was okkk . I still like Tomi as far as flavor, variety and freshness. I had the custom noodles and I smelled my cooked chicken, which was not right. I had already put it in my mouth and quickly had to spit it out! Ugghhh.... scary/

If there's a NO STAR, it should not be given a star, absolutely not my cup of tea. I would rather pay my sushi rolls from Wholefoods and be happy. Customer service is a must too tho I didn't encounter a friendly place. How disappointing.

Despite the low reviews on Yelp, I was attracted to still giving this place a try for 2 main reasons... 1) The manager of World Gourmet moved to management for this place and despite many low reviews on Yelp, I've enjoyed all of the times I've been to World Gourmet with my family, so naturally I thought that maybe I'd have the same experience here as well. 2) The lunch price is just a little under 12 dollars, which I thought was a steal for a buffet. My boyfriend and I walked in and was immediately hit with a sewage smell near the entrance. Red flags popped up, but the employees noticed us already so it would've been too awkward to walk right back out. There were other people sitting down seemingly enjoying their food so it couldn't have been that bad. Let me list what's wrong in hopes that things can change... ~ A lot of the food seemed stale and not fresh at all. The potstickers were stone cold, salmon tasted like it has been sitting there since last night's dinner service, and walnut shrimp with doughy batter. ~ The SEWAGE smell is completely off-putting. ~ The sushi selection wasn't impressive at all. I was really happy when I saw a sign for "Lion King" (my favourite kind of sushi roll) but what was on the platter were california rolls. I searched any nearby platters to see if maybe there are a mislabeling but nope. There just weren't any. IMPORTANT: I love salmon sashimi, but the fish was suspiciously warm and also slightly discoloured. Needless to stay, I didn't bother. --- With all these warnings on Yelp about food poisoning, I would heed them. Thankfully, my stomach felt fine but probably because I was extra-careful with what I picked and chose. However, it's just a gamble that I would never take again.

God, that was awful. Sorry, I usually have more to say, but I can't think of a single aspect of tonight's meal that was not awful -- from the rude "hostess" who couldn't even put down her phone when she seated me to the stinky bathroom you could almost smell from outside the restaurant to the horrible food. Nothing can save this place. Even the piped-in music: rap with extremely offensive lyrics ("f*ck", "bitches", etc) with young kids in the restaurant.

It looks good, but looks can be deceiving. Nothing was horrible, but green beans should not be the best thing at a buffet. There are better buffets for that price. Overpriced and the coupon is misleading. Coupon advertises 8.99 but in small print, only with a regular price purchase. With coupon and drink it was $21 each. $8.99 I wouldn't have been complaining that much. To end on a positive note, the place is pretty clean and spacious.

Came here after my mothers funeral service and was unpleased with the lack of customer service skills with establishment has. My poor disabled grandmother was rudely told twice to get out of her seat because the areas were reserved. She walked around twice and was not assisted in anyway. Next a waiter was carrying was to many sodas on a tray and spilled every single drop of cola all over my niece. She was handed 2 napkins and the waiter left without returning. There was food handled at the cash register with no gloves on. Why would someone handle food where you handle cash. To make things worse the waitress stood right next to our table watching us eat. Our plates were stacking up and drinks were low. The staff along with the manger need to be trained appropriately. This establishment lacks respect for there customers.

Oh my god now I know why they have special coupons. I have been to many Asian Buffets and they usually are pretty pricey so I thought hey I have a coupon and my uncle told me this place was good so why not?!? Wow was that a terrible decision. The lion king roll isn't even made with fresh fish they top it with canned tuna. The dim sum is dry and the marshmallows for fondue is hard. I didn't get sick but I will not come back.

We went to Mizzumi's for Father's Day. The seafood selection is not bad: steamed crab legs, sauteed crab legs, fish, oysters, mussels, shrimp, crawfish. The sushi was pretty disappointing though. The sashimi lacked any flavor and the rolls were plain. For a restaurant that has the word "sushi" in its name, their meats and veggies are better than their rolls. 1 star off: Shellfish are consistently overcooked. Things like oysters and mussels have a hard texture when overcooked. Yuck. 1 star off: I am a little suspicious of the cleanliness of their raw food. Other Yelp reviewers report diarrhea after dining here. Our family had some minor gastrointestinal issues too. 1 star off: Be wary of their coupon gimmicks. They will run ads in Chinese newspapers that say "Buy 1, Get 1 half off", but they don't apply to certain weekends and holidays...even though the coupon is placed right next to inviting words like "Come in this weekend and get diarrhea!" Or something like that.

I can't believe that I promised to review this place five months ago! I'm so sorry to all of the patrons who have come here and been disappointed-- I didn't do my part to help my fellow yelpers! First things first, if you've ever been to world gourmet buffet, this buffet is owned by the same people. This is the first red flag that pops up. And it's telling you to run from their buffets. I wouldn't be surprised if they owned any more buffets or restaurants because they're capitalizing on the lack of sushi buffets in Fremont. I have no problem with that. I just think it's wrong to open this buffet even after my boyfriend's mom and aunt got fairly sick and his grandma had to go to the ER after eating at World Gourmet. If they're not closed yet, I will hop on over to their page after this it write my damning review. Anyway, I absolutely love sushi. And I don't mean teriyaki chicken and California rolls like so many people like to claim as actual sushi. Raw fish is one of my true food loves. I ate probably more than my share a la carte in fish, so I wasn't completely disappointed. But at the same time, it wasn't anything amazingly delicious. I didn't have to spend any time at the porcelain throne or go to the ER so I suppose I was content. All in all, if you like gambling, save your odds for the casino. Food poisoning is never fun and since this place is run by the same people that run World Gourmet, you're better off eating somewhere else. You'll thank me in the long run.

Low quality food. All rice was hard. Every item was not fresh. I hope I don't get food poisoning. Nasty.

This place has some pretty bad reviews which kind of made me skeptical but I went here for a party and the place was actually pretty darn good. Good selection of sushi rolls and just good variety in general. Given the price point and the quality of food it's not somewhere I would go out of my way to visit but it's a solid venue and I'd eat here again.

You get what you pay for. Overall good variety of food but the quality of the food was mediocre. They did have a good selection of sushi. Everything could have tasted a lot better.

Good value for the price, but really, the food could be better. There are tons in selection. In terms of quality, the Chinese fast food and Mongolian fast food are decently good and relatively fresh. I cannot say the same about the sushi, but I do have to say that they are pretty generous. In short, I stuck to the Mongolian grill. If you are looking for a good bang for the buck, come here. If you want good sushi, spend twice as much and go elsewhere.

Came here for my Uncle's bday celebration and spent over 4 hours grazing and catching up with the fam. Over 4 hours at a buffet is definitely a record for us, ha! We all enjoyed the following entrees: fin soup, sesame balls, green beans, general chicken, frog legs, red jello, salt & pepper crab, white tuna and salmon sashimi, daikon salad, seaweed salad, variety of sushi, chow mein, walnut shrimp, shrimp tempura, mixed soft serve ice cream w chocolate fountain syrup on top. Pass on the following: sea bass and salmon over cooked, chicken wings, pineapple was not sweet and it was salty, honeydew and cantaloupe were not ripe, mochi custard, custard bun, clam w mayo and imitation crab, cream puff, eclair, custard cup, and almond jello. The staff was very friendly but our server, Jeremy, had very bad body odor which kinda made it difficult for my hubby to eat. The environment was nice and open but some of the plates and utensils were dirty and had chunks of food on it.

Came here for the first time and their food was so bland and hard, especially their chow mein, sushi, and dim sum. The only things I liked were their string beans and fried bananas. Definitely not coming back here anymore.

Too expensive for what it offers. There are a lot of options, but every single thing we tried was bad. Ingredients are not fresh and are of poor quality. Miso soup tastes like nothing, the buns taste bad, too much oil in everything that is fried, poor quality meat, sushi was also bad. Desert is not good also, except for the marshmallow/chocolate fountain - you can't go wrong with that regardless of the restaurant. Not coming back.

I used to love this place but the management/staff have effectively ruined the atmosphere. The last few times I came for dinner, the female manager informed me that an alleged dinner party would be coming in half an hour and that my party of 2 and 3 would need to eat quickly and leave. I never saw a large group with reservations follow in. Sorry, Mizuumi. You lost a customer today and I hope the others stop coming too. Liars are ugly.

I've only been here twice. The first time I went, the food was good. The second time, I don't know what happened. Everything tasted bland and there was mold on the cream puffs that I picked up from the dessert section.

I don't know why after so many reviewers complaining about food poisoning, this establishment does not fix the problem. Cooler temp for the raw fish would help? My bf ate here last week and got food poisoning. Threw up, stomache, the whole ordeal. This never happens when we eat out and we've had not so great foods before. He said it is from the raw fish they were serving, it was warm and weird tasting. For nearly $20 you get crappy raw fish. Really? $20 can get you in the Bellagio buffet for lunch. They must be cheap and stubborn enough to not care about the health of their customers. This buffet needs some serious inspection.

If you are hungry and just want to get full, try this place. Don't expect too much. Not very clean inside, food was not very fresh, but as I've said in a pinch to quall your hunger this would do. Generic tasting. I won't be back.

  • Eun Neam L.

I am never going back to this buffet again. Their food is already pretty bad and not worth the money at all. On top of the bad food, their bowls for frozen yogurt are still covered in grease and chocolate. It's very unsanitary and low quality food in there. Not a recommended buffet.

I loved this place when it first opened. The place was new and refreshing. They made an effort in their food and display quality of the food. I've been back several times since, but then the last couple of times I noticed a considerable drop in food quality. Maybe over time the management and staff just got sloppy. I love chinese food, but the last couple of times the chinese food dim sum was just bland. Other dishes, especially the fried seafood was extremely salty...a sign of covering up not-so-fresh stuff. Pass on the fruit and salad. Pastry remains good. Perhaps they changed chefs, but something is not right overall. The quality of the sushi was also noticeably downgraded. You can tell by the color of the sashimi that it's barely even buffet grade fish. The tuna is a pale color....not a good sign. The sushi rolls are also over saturated with sauces. I noticed their dishes weren't 100% clean! One plate I grabbed still had a bit of dried food stuck to the bottom. Buffet restaurants don't last forever, but I'm surprised this one's gone downhill so quickly.

I was coming from the Union City BART Station after NYE festivities in The City and noticed the Hometown Buffet that I loved as a kid growing up had been replaced by Mizuumi. Always ready to try a new buffet, I decided to test it out for lunch despite the low rating on Yelp. I did find it funny to see a "People love us on Yelp" sticker placed on the entrance to the restaurant. I hate to break it to the management, but people don't love you on Yelp, as a 2.5 star average rating is nothing to be happy about. The food isn't terrible, but it's definitely not good. Not even good on an Asian buffet lowered standard. The food probably is 2.5-3.0 star quality, but deductions for the high price. After tax the meal cost $20.75, which is way too much for the quality of food being served. I was fine paying a bit more than average, and I expected better than average food compared to the standard Asian buffet. Instead, I paid more for worse than average. On the bright side, I didn't get food poisoning like some of the other reviewers. No, I will not give extra stars for not getting food poisoning. That's to be expected without reward. Thankfully I'm spoiled living in Vegas because I can always rely on Buffet @ Asia for my Asian buffet needs at half the price.

Never have I EVER had food poisoning as bad as I did when I ate here. 8 hours of throwing up, extremely dehydrated, and almost went to the hospital. I had a dance performance the next day and was so weak, but good thing I'm a trooper and still killed it. This business won't be running for long.

I was wondering why this place is so empty on a Sunday afternoon. I went in with my family and it took them a while to seat us even tho the place was empty . For the lunch price its not too bad . There is a lot of different kind of sushi but the sushi is just okay. Lots of seafood too. I especially love the crawfish. The Chinese food and the dessert section was a huge disappointment. The Chinese section only have four trays( veggies, mushroom, fried rice and chow mein) where is the meat?!! The chow mein was nasty. Every thing at the dessert section look old. What a huge disappointment for a buffet place! The place is only worth going for lunch. For their dinner price, I rather go else where. I hope the management see the low reviews they have and improve on the qualities, varieties and train their staffs better. Otherwise, I don't see this buffet in business for long.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU END UP WITH 2 DAYS OF VOMITING AND 7+ DAYS OF DIARRHEA! I am a Doctoral Student and highly recommend avoiding this place! My girlfriend and I stopped here for the buffet last weekend. Since we ate here I have been in bed sick (8-12 hr onset). I am currently in bed and still debating to go to the ER. I NEVER post reviews but this experience is so unbelievably miserable I had to share it with others. Before I started to write this I read the other reviews and most of them are spot on. The bathroom smells awful, customer service was good, the building was warm (when you have raw foods out this doesn't mix well), the building was pretty empty (others must have read yelp... Idiot me didn't) and the dishes weren't cleaned well. Save yourself the trouble and do NOT eat here!!!

I am giving this place 1 star because I cannot write a comment without giving a star. With that being said, I am never going back there! The food is absolutely horrible! They even charge you 50% if you waste food! No leftovers.? Well, everything I tried I could not finish because it was disgusting!! So I guess that's how they make money. You pay for your food, and 50% more for not being able to finish...

Mizuumi priced 18.95 for weekend buffet -10%promo. was gonna pass. i started walking away. i reconsidered when i considered considered opening weekend food couldn't be that bad. WRONG! drill: trying everything, was eating for 2 hours, on my 7th or 8th plate when the check arrived(didn't ask for it, coincidentally was getting tired of trying everything in sight) -finally tried the a piece of sushi, bad taste like uni or s...almost chucked everything up! (sign i had enough) overview: -only 1/4 salted crab worth eating: tasty, meaty, salty (but saltiness a sign crab is d.o.a.salt hides dead/old meat.) (not the case here) seen only once in 2 hours. -snow crab leg: salty, so so -dimsum: doughy, tasteless, probably from china -soups (sweet & sour, fin) corn starchy -ice cream: funny , chemical tasting -sashimi (tuna, salmon, mackeral, squid, white fish, surf clam) small pieces, not fresh -fruits: fresh -chinese food: bland, tasteless -pastry: ok -seafood *crayfish: small, little meat, tasteless *mussel, clams: tasteless *baked salmon: tasteless *steamed fish: tasteless *kimchee octupus, seaweed: ok if you like funny taste all you can...: -no utensils anywhere (only chopsticks) -no soup bowls provided for soup, just sauce bowls. -teppanyaki bar not labeled, looked like mongolian bbq. (but rectangle grill) -tables cleared very fast, most times before i teft the table. ( a hint?) -other buffet other side freeway better deal/fresher food. -sushi rolls most popular item -smiling service by penguins in suits.(everyone wore black). -lots of seating -lunch (11.95) dinner-weekdays (12.95), weekends, all, 18.95 (10% off all october.) -2.5 stars (barely)

Food is okay, with a great assortment of sushi and several other dishes. For a $12.99 weekday lunch, this is very good value. Some reviewers have commented on food poisoning. While it may be the food or preparation, it is also quite possible that they got germs from the serving utensils. You are touching the same tongs/spoons everyone else is touching, after all. Case in point, a friend of mine got food poisoning last week from the breakfast buffet at a five-star Four Seasons resort. No buffet is germ proof. For what it's worth, I came with a party of 10, and none got sick from the food. I didn't eat any of the raw fish (didn't know whether to trust it after seeing all the reviews), but others in my party did.

we came in very late on a week night for a quick dinner. They seated us right away, everything looked clean and sanitary. We ordered 2 dinners and one to go. I like the option to order a to go plate. The guy gave me a styrofoam container and said i can fill it as long as it closes, that sounded good to me. They had a large variety and asked me if there was some sushi i wanted them to make, so i told them what i wanted and they did a great job, the sushi tasted fresh and the rolls were surprisingly yummy too. We will be coming back to the buffet.

  • Eva Y.

Decent selection, sashimi pieces are small and square-ish. The service is decent and attentive. The quality is middle of the road. The seafood selection for crab legs, oysters, and fish is pretty good for a buffet. This place reminds me of fancy version of chinese buffets in MN or the Mid-West.

(If I could give it .5 stars, I would) I have been to Mizuumi many times in the past but the last couple times I went the experience has been awful. Today I go in and eat and there was not very much sushi. Now I understand that weekends are busy, but you prep for this and have an abundance of sushi available. After waiting for 20 minutes, I asked for a particular sushi roll and they said it would be out in a few minutes...well it never came. When I went to pay, I told the cashier that I was unhappy with the food service and quality and that I the servers didn't even give me a refill (apparently I was unaware that we, the customer had to flag them down and beg for service). She rudely replied. I paid and left but this will be the last time I eat at this place. The food was less than okay and the only good/fresh thing was the stir-fry bar (decent selection). Service -5, customer service, -5, and food taste was probably a 2.

Almost like Vegas is in Union City. This place used to housed the former Hometown Buffet. I must say when you walk into this place they have totally changed decor and the layout. They have just opened recently. The place reeks of crystal chandelier's all over the place. It gives it a Vegas feel to it. Clean place is always a plus very roomy also. There is a good selection of sushi and seafood. They have also a hot table of more seafood and Chinese food also. They need to improve their fried rice. The rice needs a little bit more water to it. Then it will be fine. Sushi rice is no need for improvement. They also serve a dim sum station and a teppanyaki station. THEY HAVE SPICY CRAWFISH!!!!!!!!!!! Try their small cakes it's good too. A decent sized desert station at this place. Promotion Deal until Oct 31, 2012 10% of you're entire order. F.Y.I: You must pay at the end. That is how this place works. They do take cards. Cool staff with a warm feeling that is what I dig about this place. Repeat customer you bet ya!.

Avoid this place. Food and selection is so-so. And they don't honor the discount coupons they publish. The manager plays dumb. Caveat emptor. If you see the place half empty, you know why. There are better and less costly places. If I could give a negative rating, it would be bad.

Don't say I didn't warn you. STOP. Turn around. Go anywhere else, but here. As we contemplated about trying Mizuumi, I told my guy "at least once". Well, he will never let me live this down. Crusty, dirty spoon and fork wrapped in my napkin greeted me as I sat down. I put them unused on a dirty plate and when the nice waiter took them off to hand back to me, I told them they were dirty. He smiled, said "ok" and never gave me new ones. The sushi rolls had dry, sad looking fish on top. The walnut shrimp had no walnuts? And the batter was seasonless. The fries were warm and chewy. How can you mess up fries for heaven's sake? The only thing we liked were the fried bananas, chocolate covered marshmallows and the free soda at lunch. For $11 a pop, I got screwed royally. It wasn't even a tiny bit satisfying. There goes my "at least once" motto.

    (1)
  • Alex L.

It's not that bad. I was expecting far worse for a 2.5 star buffet. The sashimi was fresh enough. None of us got sick. For $18 dollars it's not a bad deal. I went there for dinner on a weekday. There's a good variety of sushi, sashimi, and other seafood.

    (4)
  • Jay K.

Anyone leaving a good review for this place is only doing so for the 15% discount they offer if you leave a good review. The food is NOWHERE near $19 worth. The sushi was alright, but the food was HORRIBLE. NO TASTE!

  • Lancaster K.

I've been here three times and each time has been the same. Despite being busy we are always seated immediately asked what we want to drink. I make a bee line to the Sushi section but I always get nervous from the thought of food poisoning. This is my sequence of plate selection. Plate 1: Tuna, Salmon, and every piece of raw fish. Plate 2: Fried Rice, broccoli beef, oysters, Korean BBQ ribs, and shrimp Plate 3: Baked Salmon, Dim-sum, snow crab legs Desert Plate: Fried Banana, Vanilla Ice Cream You have to come here hungry to get your money's worth because the bill is expensive. Overall this is a decent place to take your parents, grand parents, aunties and uncles.

  • Elie R.

I just got home from there , it was horrible food the service very bad nothing left to eat and i ask the lady all she said with a bad attitude sorry, but we pay $20.75 per person for nothing. I never go there again and I let all my friends to a void this place. All is impotent to them to get your many and they don't give a dame if you come back or not!!!

    (1)
  • Umang P.

I apologize if my reviews are not as sophisticated as other Yelpers but I figure simple bullet points are much easier on the eyes: - Pretty bad service (the only time they really are speedy is to give you the check) - Food isn't too bad- but you can tell some of the sushi and fish have been sitting out for a while - Eating raw fish from this place made me terrified that I was going to be spewing out an E. Coli or C. Diff infection Overall: - Be adventurous and find a better seafood buffet. After all, you're in the Bay Area for crying out loud. I guarantee there are better options out there and once I find it, I'll let you know!

Yikes what happened to this place? About a year ago I would go here even though I usually hate buffets. But now it's another reason to hate buffets. The crab legs and crawfish are offensively not fresh. The sushi is not much better. The service is just barely there for you. And oh, never ever have a birthday here. They bang on a gong so annoyingly much and loudly that it isn't even funny anymore because it's accompanied by a restaurant-wide recording of some people singing Happy Birthday and colored lights flashing. As my group drove away, my young 12-yr-old cousin (who is this place's biggest advocate) said, "Well, goodbye forever"

    (2)
  • Venessa G.

So this place is clearly great for kids because there's a handful of children running around like they have no parents and the staff is tolerating it. Everything in the steam trays or hot plates are cold. The noodles cooked to order are meh. They serve frog legs. They have direct TV not Comcast. Oh and also I lifted a plate from the buffet and the plate underneath mine was sticky with rice not residue actual rice. I typically don't like buffets in general because if I'm paying to eat you should serve me delicious quality food.

    (1)
  • Cheryl C.

The food is decent but don't expect to be seated on time even if you have a reservation. We arrived 15 minutes early and we're about to be seated by hostess #1 when hostess #2 yells for to wait until we all arrived. Not sure why that matters at a buffet when we have reservations. Then 1 pm rolls around and they have 2 tables ready. Not acceptable...we might as well be in different restaurants. They had a table at 1:45. It's now 2:30 and I've got three hungry kids, 3 senior citizens that are hungry and want to sit and 4 pretty pissed off adults. This place isn't that worth it.

This place really sucks! 1st thing I have to say about this place is When you walk in the entrance door you can smell the bathrooms (gross)even more when you go in to use it! 2nd the seats & table was dirty almost didn't want to sit down! 3rd The sushi really sucks! It was soggy and tasted like it was rotten I literally had to spit it out! 7 eleves sushi taste better! 4th The peppered crabs were garbage it tasted as if it were 2 days old food. My stomach literally began to turn upside down. 5th I didn't see them change or add more food not even once... I can go on about all their food & not even 1 single dish tasted good including dessert! The fruits were old no selection at all! I would never ever go back to this place no wonder why they are sending out coupons just to try to get people to come! (That's why nobody would go there to eat because your food is nasty! Even if the food was free I still wouldn't go back there to eat!) feeling really sick as I left! Saving my receipt cause if I have to go to the ER they are the main reason! Food poisoning...

Here at 8pm & closing time is at 10pm. You would think the food would still be hot & coming out ... nope that was certantly not the case here. Food is not that good, everything was cold & over cooked. All employees seemed pretty much off duty just sitting around chit chatting, the place was empty to begin with ... I don't really need to wonder why no ones here. I've had better with worse conditions. My only question is WHERES THE FRESH SUSHI ?!

    (1)
  • Danny F.

First of $17 is way too hefty price tag for the food we got. Lacks quality & quantity. They need more of a variety. If it was cheaper would of earned another star. All the displays were knocked over so I couldn't see any of the food names. Service was very good & attentive. Food was very cold. I did enjoy the crab very much. They need to improve their food. I would say avoid this place & try somewhere else in the Hayward/San Leandro area.I did like the atmosphere of this resteraunt it was very clean. Food felt very cold & old.

Impulse Mother's Day dinner with the partner. For their 18.95 deal for the day I thought I was walking into a win win situation because 1. Me & the partner were starving 2. Sushi buffet for less then $20! Hell yes! But I felt as if the staff wasn't doing their job, they had their kids running around around & I kept seeing unattended children just playing on empty tables knocking soy sauces everywhere... Kinda like a chuck e cheese buffet. My boyfriend also fell in the men's bathroom & a staff member saw him, tell me why that is when they decide to put a wet floor sign up. The sushi also was not refilled so I was teased when I would read rainbow roll & see no roll! I won't be coming back to this buffet unfortunately because the service & food was not worth the 18.95, I don't even know what their regular price is. But no thank you. But don't take my word for it, try it out & see what your take is.

Not too bad for a buffet. There's really nothing too much to expect since they serve the same foods from a typical sushi or chinese buffet. The interior is superb, looks very clean and classy. Well, it's a new place so what do you expect right? Also, the foods taste good and not too greasy. When it comes to sushi, there's not enough choices to choose from, they are very limited. But I like the desserts that they have, some of it are not even available in most buffets.

I wanted to like this place. The people are very nice especially the guy at the front but I had the worst thing happen that can happen at any restaurant. I came in for lunch I have been here a couple times and it was no bad. I figured lunch would be nice and quick. I had some sushi and then a plate of short ribs sea food mix walnut prawn and muscle. I went back to work and was ok. 4 hours after lunch I started to feel ill. I went home and vomited for 2 DAYS. I had bad FOOD POISONING! 2 days of hell. I threw up every half hour and then threw up out of my butt too. I missed work and have not been right since. I wanted to like this place because I like sea food and sushi and they are always nice. Just have to give it 1 star.

I normally don't write reviews but this is necessary. Although the food was decent, the staff at the restaurant is TERRIBLE. This is my first and last time coming to this place. As advertised, they had Uni available. Since the Uni was not placed on the buffet counter (this was their way to conserve it), we asked the sushi chef to make us some. First, he was extremely rude when asked to prepare the sushi. Second, when my mom and brother asked for some, he told them to come back in 10 minutes. They agreed and came back in 10 minutes. When they asked again, the sushi chef gave my brother the sushi and told my mom that he doesn't remember her asking and told her to come back in 10 minutes! At the instance, my brother and mom got extremely angry and began to yell at the sushi chef. Even then, the sushi chef did not want to make it for my mom. At this point, WE are the CUSTOMERS, just make us the sushi, it's that simple. ALL of this could of been avoided if he could of just made the sushi INSTEAD of arguing if she had asked or not. The worst part about this argument was that my mom did ask! DO NOT COME HERE. Go somewhere else. The staff members here do not know what they are doing.

I will never ever come here again, I got sick and vomit when I got home. Food are not fresh, don't eat. Any public health dept. could check and see what they did to the food?

Tomi Seafood Buffet in San Jose is better. More selections. BETTER selections. Not that impressed with this place and service is slow. We kept waiting to get drink refills.

I would have rated this buffet 3 stars if it weren't for the fact that I felt very very sick after eating here. I don't think it was food poisoning, but I felt extremely nauseous afterwards. I came with my family for a cousin's birthday. I did not look at Yelp prior to coming since whenever I hear buffet, I expect cruddy, greasy, extremely fatty foods. Heading in, the restaurant looks very clean, and very well kept. My eyes were immediately having a feast even before I touched my first plate. I headed for the sushi first, I made a complete round grabbing pieces from almost every plate there. I don't even know why I took a masago piece....but I thought I would try it (I don't like masago). The only sushi roll I did enjoy was the tempura shrimp? roll. The other sushi I loved was the tamago, but that is only because I absolutely love tamago. I don't advise the raw fish sushi, even if you like catepillar rolls, or dragon rolls, I think it would be best to stay away. Oh and another roll that I enjoyed was the unagi, which I discovered when my plate was already 110% full. I still managed to stuff a few of the unagi onto my plate. I headed to the hot food next. It's the traditional Chinese/random fast food spread. I grabbed some tempura pieces (not so bad), sesame balls (delicious!), clams (not that great), broccoli from the broccoli beef (yummy), mushrooms (one of the best), the fish filet balls? (don't bother), the baked salmon (disappointment), and the string beans (very good, could have used more salt though...). After these two plates, I was reaching my limit, which is very strange because I tend to do very well in buffets (I mean that I usually feel my limit toward 3-4 plates in). I decided to stop eating and went over to the desserts. I tried their ice cream and was glad I didn't get a lot. It was very runny and tasted worse than the watery ice cream that I ate in my college dining hall. I stayed away from the baked goods, though the macaroon, and the tiramisu?, and maybe the napoleon looked pretty tasty. I just went over the the strawberries, and covered them in chocolate fondue and just had a dab of chocolate pudding. I didn't get jello, or anything else. I was pretty happy with the desserts I chose....which was pretty much strawberries and chocolate. My own little Valentine's treat! Just a few months too late. But hey, it's never too late to celebrate Single's Day am I right? :) Here is where I started to feel even worse than when I finished my main course plates. I was extremely nauseous after my strawberries. I will be honest and say that I went to the restroom and the strawberries and chocolate were puked out of me. I don't know what it was but something in the food here, and I'm not sure if it's in the sushi, the hot food, or the desserts, but I was literally sweating and the nausea did not leave til I threw up something. I hope I didn't disgust anyone, but this is what happened. My advice....just tread cautiously. I never had any problems in other buffets before this one....and I don't think I will come back anytime soon. C/C-

I don't understand why these reviews are so poor, honest. I came here a couple of days ago for my brother's birthday celebration prepared for the worst after reading the below awful reviews. Coming in, I was shocked to see a clean atmosphere and great selection of food despite warnings from other reviews. While I'm not much of a sushi person, I thought their sashimi was great and I loved the string beans. I took full advantage of the chocolate fountain and the selection of fresh fruits and found it to be delicious! The decor is really nice and its pleasantly warm inside. I think I overate and that was the cause of my food coma, but other than that I had a good time. For the price it was a good outing.

Ok I don't know why this place gets 2-3 stars. I've always had a good experience here. The sushi is definitely hit or miss but mostly hit! So why 5 stars??? Because when compared to other sushi buffets this place pars waaaay better and hits the spot! What do u expect of sushi buffets anyhow? The rolls are awesome and you can ask for handrolls mmmm.. So if u want very decent sushi for good prices and good service I say you've picked the right place.

Sashimi was not bad, everything else was just "meh". Dinner is overpriced for the quality of food served. Wouldn't come back unless all other places were closed, and by all other places I mean every other restaurant in the bay area.

I didn't want to review this place as my experience was so awful that I didn't want to remember it. I just want to say that I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, and would not ever eat here even if someone paid for me.

One of the worst asian/sushi buffet I ever ate. Nothing is fresh and almost all the hot items were overcooked under heat lamps. The sushi is lousy and mostly filled with cheap California rolls. Price ain't worth it at all even with a coupon. Seriously, you can find a much better all-you-can-eat sushi than this dump. Sorry just being honest.

As any normal buffet i was surprise on the selection of sushi they had to offer. It was a bit to get someone to notice we were waiting to be seated waited about 5 minutes to get the hostess . Made it before dinner rush , this place was recommended by a friend of mines so we went early. Made my way to the sushi and was in ahhhh yes ahhhh they had my favorite dragon roll. lion king and there redition of Mizuumi roll. added bonus they had all the sides from kim chee to seaweed yummy.. The usual mongolian bowl station and your varitey of chinese dishes, there desert station was very selective and lets not forget there chocolate fountain and the many choices of food. The kids were in sweet heaven . The place get busy really fast so the noise factor gets loud real quick. the busser are on top of things with clearing the tables and attending to our drinks. But once it got busy it was far few in between did we see anyone. Only down fall on that , but overall the food was good. I would go back

I want to start by saying this is one of the worst buffet places I've been to! I got a coupon in the mail about the grand opening and figured I'd go down to check it out with my wife. . Boy was that a big mistake! The place looks nice and all but the food was terrible! The food wasn't very tasty or looked not really fresh. Nothing I had was very good.. Just a bunch of so so average stuff. I couldn't finish my plate and just wanted to get out of there. The guy in front is nice and used to work at Newark Buffet. We wondered where he went and he recognized us right away. He asked how was the food? We told him honestly that it wasn't very good and that the food is better at Newark Buffet. I think he said see you next time? I said no I'm sorry.. Thanks and take care. Note it's not worth coming here for like $20 for dinner for poor quality! Save your stomach, money and time... Avoid this place!!!!

this place seems like they would serve food that has a lot of flavors but it was lacking. the only good thing about this place is the sushi. everything else is not worth it or just bland. every type of desserts were lacking sweetness. not worth going here if they charge that much for for that has no flavor. don't think I would come back. sorry not sorry

Super disappointed. Looks can be deceiving, especially those sparkly ass chandeliers! 1 star for the service and cleanliness. Another star because I feel bad rating this place a 1 since it is a new business (I like to support new businesses). The food was terrible... all of it was. How do you serve raw oysters but not have Tabasco sause? Sushi was garbage, only the sashimi was edible. I honestly would rather make the drive down to san jose for tomi sushi buffet... I won't be coming back (unless you pay for my dinner)

The place looked very nice, although the multiple front doors were a little confusing, but no big deal. My parents and I went there for AYCE dinner. As walked in, we were immediated greeted and being led to a table. I was really hungry, so I went to the sushi and sashimi first. I noticed that their food don't always match the name of the food, which kind of threw me off when it came to rolls I didn't know of. The sashimi was well organized on a plate, but if you're not a fan of the radish(?) on the bottom, you're going to end up with some on your plate anyway because of the way it was laid out. The sushi tasted alright, but the rice was beginning to stiffen which mean the rolls must have been out for quite some time. (Be aware of that.) The sashimi was just alright. The Chinese food didn't look that appealing to me; it looked like the typical un-Chinese Chinese food. There were oysters (yay!), but not washed very thoroughly as they were still filled with a lot sand. Time for fruits and desserts. Fruits: old, unsweet, the honeydew was ok though. Dessert: all over the place as if they just took boxes and put them out. names didn't match either. the ice cream (from an ice cream machine) was good though. Oh just to add, there was no music when we came in, but halfway through our meal, I guess someone decided to turn on some music... really loudly. ): The waiters were very nice, but if you want your cup refilled, don't expect them to come to you without calling for them.

The visits I've had at Mizuumi's have been very inconsistent. I was very happy with the food selection and service the first time we ate there in October. I have been there twice since and each time the food quality has not been anywhere near the first visit. On our last visit, a Tuesday night about two weeks ago, the tempura shirmp was cold (like it had been in the refrigerator) and some of the sushi rice was crusty and dry. I will probably give it another try sometime since my parents live nearby and because I know it has potential since the first time the food was really great.

I've tried almost every buffet in Fremont, Newark, so I chose to try this new one in Union City. I only gave it a two star rating because of the friendly staff, quick servicing of used plates, and the sushi. EVERYTHING else was pretty gross. I thought I'd try a little of everything and was mostly disappointed. This is bad coming from me because I've been called a garbage disposal and can eat most decent tasting food of all cultural specialties. The fried bbq chicken literally smelt like sweaty armpit, the chocolate pudding was spoiled or had a foul sour taste and smell. Some food was ok but the only decent food was the sushi. Everything else I tried was made better even at mediocre asian buffets. I left with a lost appetite and didn't eat for the rest of the day so I could digest this food in my stomach. =( Never coming back, they should rethink how or who is cooking their food or change the recipe.

I keep receiving coupons in the mail for this place so I decide to go. At first glance the sushi and food looked pretty decent but two words: FOOD POISONING. This was my first time ever getting food poisoning and it was terrible. If you want a decent seafood buffet I suggest you drive to san jose and check out tomi seafood buffet in san jose. Do yourself a favor and don't come here.

One statement to sum it up: Gastrointestinal Issues after eating here! My family and I were excited to try the new buffet in town. Unfortunately, we were let down! If you are desperate and don't mind paying $18 per person then by ol' means eat here. If you want quality food for $18 then choose another place! The only good that we found with this place is the space and it was fairly clean esp. for a buffet. The seaweed was pretty good, BUT then it had an awful after taste. The same applies to the mushrooms and squid! eeeWW The BAD: There's too much rice on the sushi, the slice of fish on top is very thin. Some pieces of fish were smelly. The rice texture on the sushi was very bad! How can you mess up rice? The selection of food was very poor. A buffet is supposed to offer a wide selection. This place had more sushi then anything and the sushi was bad all around. The chinese selection: the fried rice tasted like old rice crumbs. After one bite, it was obvious the rice was probably 2 days left over- reused to make fried rice. Now is this worth the $ nope! Make matters worse for PARENT'S who have PICKY EATERS who will only eat at the most FRIED RICE. Well you'll just have to WATCH YOUR TODDLER STARVE! Yup, because they will charge you $6.95 for your child to take even one bite off your plate. Oysters, Crab and crawfish: tastes pretty good going down until that icky feeling takes over. Hmm there was something wrong with all. Totally not fresh! Now the kicker of all... my family members have now all officially called to tell me they felt VERY SICK a couple of hours after dinner (do you know the feeling of cold cramps in your stomach that you just minus well sleep next to the toilet because it just won't stop?) The wait staff: rude and barely spoke any English! Ask for a diet can soda- a diet pepsi. The waiter says yes then she says what do you want then says "no can soda no". WTH? If I said a can, what the hell does that mean? Errghh!

If I had a choice between coming to eat here for free for a party, or that McDonalds next door, I'd choose McDonalds. Sadly I came here for a party, and I looked up the Yelp reviews prior going here so I knew what to expect. But man..the food was AWFUL!!! Something didn't seem right with everything. Even the Ice Cream tasted slightly off. But the SUSHI, my god-- the most god-awful thing I've ever stomached in my whole life. It's just so bad!! The only positive thing I experienced were the waiters/waitresses: they were very polite, checked on our drinks, and took out our plates often. Overall, I wouldn't even come here to eat for free.

Mizuumi Sushi and Seafood Buffet opened at the former location of Hometown Buffet. Mizuumi offers a good array of sushi, seafood, and Chinese food. Lots of people are dining here since it just opened. The sashimi is really fresh, albeit small pieces. Will be there again for lunch and will update this review in more detail.

It's a shame people like those below are why others will have high doubts towards a business. I think I even read that someone had a bad stomach from their food? SERISOULY, ONE STAR? You're telling me the food was close to inedible? Because that's what a 0 is. What a joke. Here's my experience. I ate for the price of $12.95 during a Saturday lunch. Let's clear the whole "gummy rice" thing up. That is not the case, it is just like any other sushi buffet; you want perfect rice then go to a Japanese Restaurant. Their sushi was good to me having a range of specialty rolls, to many types of basics like nigiri. A big plus and surprise was that they had REAL crab nigiri. I couldn't believe it, because no other Asian buffet put that out (including more expensive places like Hokkaido in San Mateo or Moon Star in Daly City). I tried pretty much everything, which were all good to me. They split the section to steamed sweet and savory varieties of dim sum, sushi, your typical chinese-american food at every buffet, seafood, desserts, and cook your own noodles/rice. In the seafood area I was happy to see crawfish being served as well. The cook your own was good as well giving you the choice of raw ingredients that can be turned into fresh stir fried noodles or even fried rice. The place itself is very clean because it is in it's grand opening, but I'm sure it will stay as clean as it is. The waiters are attentive with grabbing plates without too long of a wait, your drinks are refilled and given to you even before you grab your first plate of food, and the seating is very spacious. So I ask, how does Mizumi even get ANYTHING close to a 1 star review? If you want to talk food quality, well what do you expect? Something that came out of Reno and Vegas? Mizumi is similiar to buffets such as Newark Chinese Buffet, Kokyo Sushi Buffet. For the haters, go to Hokkaido or Moonstar to get your fix because you obviously have princess standards.

So disgusting! It was so hard to find a clean bowl to get soup and then to find a clean bowl for my ice cream. Everything is so dirty! The raw fish looked suspicious and the "butter" for the crab legs looks like pudding. All the food that I did try had no flavor. Im just now reading all the food poisoning reviews and am very concerned about my well being. At this point, I don't know if I should force vomit to save myself or deal with the consequences.

I've been this buffet couple weeks ago. I didn't expect so much about this place, but this place is much better than my expectation. I'm a big fan for the sea food. There is lots of choice about sea food. My first impression about this place was warm, clean and friendly. Food was not good as Las Vegas Buffet, but it's worth it for the price and location. I'll be there again.

I was going to give them a two, but the food was just that horrible. Ill break everything down for you guys to read, and yes I do eat a LOT of sushi to say I will never come back here, even for the price. Before the bad, lets start with the goods. Decor : This place is very nicely decorated, all the food stands have some sort of LED lights on them to make it flashy. The booths all have mini chandeliers hanging above them, and the entire place is nice and clean. A LOT OF OPEN SPACE. Staff : Very attentive and nice. Cleared tables fast, refilled drinks as needed, and checked to see if everything was ok. Here we go, Im sorry for all of you people who enjoy the food here. Nigiri: The rice - what the hell is wrong with the rice? It is gummy textured. The fish that was cut on top; paper thin. That combined with the BIG mouthful of rice on each nigiri - horrible. Edamame: I thought - how do you mess up edamame. Undercooked and not salted - thats how. The edamame was still completely firm, not as soft as all the other sushi joints ive been to. JUST a little bit longer boil, and a dash of salt would have fixed this one. Specialty sushi rolls: Ew. Just ew. I thought because this was a sushi and seafood buffet, they would have decent rolls; i was wrong. The rice is that weird gummy texture, and there is way too much rice to filling. The filling was flavorless, and i swear none of the sushi was worth my money, The gari (pickled ginger[you know that pink stuff you guys never eat]) was more flavorful than any of the sushi i picked up. Dim Sum - weird flavor, weird texture. The Har Gao (shrimp dumplings) did not have a bite of shrimp in them, i think it was all synthetic anything. The external skin was crap. The Siu Mai - SAME THING. I don't know what I was eating. Dessert : The cake looked dry as hell. My gf took one bite, and I did not even want to have a bite. I had some soft serve, it was good thank god. If you messed that up, I don't know what would have happened. Drinks : Pink lemonade - made from a powder - TOO MUCH POWDER. I had to get that drink MIXED with WATER for it to taste right. Really? Ultimate result : I had super high hopes of this place before it opened. A new sushi seafood buffet close to home, and it looked nice and everything. Once i got to the food, i was highly disappointed. I sadly can make better sushi at home. After my first plate with this place, i was disgusted already. I want to give them a two star for their service and decor - but the food was just god awful. They have a teppanyaki station, might be good, but wasn't even going to try. They have way too much open space, they need to re-situate their food stations. There was literally almost no selection of things to eat. I promise that if this place is here in a year, ill try it again and see if its improved, but with this quality, if it keeps up, i don't see them open for a year. I actually miss the Hometown Buffet that use to be here. Even though the food there wasn't awful- it was better than this.

Cooked hot food was good. Tried the sushi and I was disappointed. The fish was not that fresh. Salmon sashimi should be have a certain color and texture when it's fresh. The salmon was not shiny and was pasty in texture. I would not recommend going to this place with so many other good sushi buffets in the area.

Went today to see the new place. Wasn't impressed. Was going to give it 2 stars until I came home and my stomach was in ruins. Normally the food I choose at buffets like this doesn't affect me like this place did. The place is clean and well kept, so that was nice, but it was the only nice thing about the place. I immediately went for fruit only because I was so thirsty. Fruit was fruit, so can't complain really. When I went around to get some food, the sushi just looks unappetizing. There was just something about the layout that made me pass up the sushi... and the majority of the place was sushi! Ended up getting some labeled things like generals chicken, and some select dim sum. Second round was one tuna nigiri and two pieces of vegetable tempura. Tempura was soft and nigiri was okay. Not great, but okay. Desserts were dry and tasteless. The yogurt/ice cream machine is the only thing really worth going to, only because it had some flavor to it. Overall: go somewhere else. It's not even worth the price you pay.

The crab was so freaking addictive and the creme brulee so excellent, I will be back! The chow mein was good but may have been cooked in aluminum pan as it tasted a bit of metal but the other rice noodle dish was very good. I liked the eel sushi and yummy california rolls, went back twice. I or my other 2 friends did not get sick or any inkling of sickness. We were happy campers. The cooked oysters were yummy also and kept running low. The potstickers were good. It is very crowded at 2 p.m. on a Saturday. It must be good for so many people to fill up that place constantly.

While the price is rich, it's worth it because the food taste good and are fresh. The two hunks of nicely baked salmon alone was worth the price -- the salmon was fresh, tender and juicy. I went there yesterday for lunch. The place was clean and the ambiance was nice and the staff was friendly and proactive. I had the cook make me some chow mien with the stuff I picked out. It turned out very nice -- beef (pretty lean), prawns and some vegetables. (The cook is a nice Hispanic dude -- I think they hardworking and talented dudes will soon replace half of the chefs in the US and do a better job! God bless them and the US.) The stir fried prawns and honey walnut prawns were cooked perfectly -- yes, perfectly, I said. What this place could use is to add Korean BBQ and soups, Vietnamese pho and BBQ. It would actually help if they also included free sodas in the price. Remember -- the more soda people have in the stomach, the less food they will eat. And soda is cheaper to produce than stir friend prawns, etc. The sushi bar was pretty large and fairly good. (Sashimi is available for dinner only.) The small fried crabs were OK, but I prefer dungenous crabs, which the chap at the cash register said is not served even during dinner because it's way too expensive. (Who said the US consumers are not saddled with high inflation -- food prices are higher as are gasoline prices.) The men's room was modern and clean, for now :-)

I was pretty excited about trying out a new buffet place but oh my gosh, after one bite of the salmon sashimi...I was already disappointed. The food wasn't good at all. Here are the other reasons why this place only deserves one star. 1. This place was so stuffy and hot when I went that, when I ate my sashimi...they were warm! This is like food poisoning waiting to happen. 2. The cooked oysters were still semi-raw. Gosh at that temp, it's food poisoning waiting to happen again. 3. The oranges were DRY, the flan was BURNT. I swear, no one touched those oranges when I was there. 4. The plates were piled up, and no one took them away. 5. No one came to refill drinks. 6. At the noodle station, I saw the chef reusing a bowl that the customer hand him that once had raw meat in it, including chicken! Not to mention, the noodle was soggy and the meat was rough at that station. 7. The one thing that was supposed to be fatty and juicy aka short ribs, were not marinated and oh my gosh, it's uber burnt and rough...and dry as beef jerky! 8. Pretty much, food were either under seasoned (like the clams, hot & spicy shrimps) or overly salted (broccoli, jelly fish, etc). 9. Right when my boyfriend's mom finished signing the credit card bill with the pen still in her hand, the waiter came by and grabbed the bill away. The list goes on... Anyhow if you do plan to go eat there, I say stick with the sushi rolls and cooked fish. That was the only thing that I enjoyed eating safely there. Don't think I'll go back--rather spend my money on fast food.

I came here with my family. I had no expectations knowing only a new buffet replaced Hometown Buffet. I was pleased to find out it was seafood and sushi buffet. When I walked in, the decor took me in by surprise. First stop: Sushi! I've been to many buffets in the area serving sushi. I thought the variety was wonderful. Of the sushi the nigiri was my favorite. I had octopus, mackerel, squid, and clam. Then I had some dim sum. I only liked the shrimp dim sum. Had small pieces of a lot of the food. The food is on par with other buffets in the area. For dessert I had strawberry and marshmallow chocolate fondue which was fun and okay. The fondue reminded me of the fancy hors d'oeuvres served at college. The cakes had nice presentation. However they didn't taste as good. I didn't like the icing and the cake was dry. Maybe that's how some people like it. I think they could improve the desserts considerably. With regards to other reviews, I don't think you can hold the same expectation for sushi served at a buffet compared to a sushi restaurant. It is a buffet and you've got to consider how they can make a profit. At this buffet there was a good variety and they didn't overload the sushi with rice. I give 5 stars because the buffet exceeded expectations my expectations for a buffet, decor was nice, cleanliness was good, server was polite and prompt, and for Union City and the area the buffet is located, Mizuumi definitely exceeds those in the area and city.

When I read the reviews, I laughed when they compared it to Vegas decor. When I got to the place, I was in shock-- because it did remind me of Vegas! It has that kind of Vegas buffet feel, maybe because it's new-- I'm hoping people don't trash this place, or that they keep up with the cleanliness. Compared to hometown buffet which was a bit dimly lit and a bit dirty in my opinion, The owner tootally changed this place around! Kudos to them. (: I thought it was more of a japanese restaurant, but they actually serve chinese food-- Which is fine with me as long as it didn't suck. I had their asparagus, which was sauteed and stir fried, and I enjoyed it. There was also this white fish wrapped in green and red bell pepper that was seasoned very good to me. My sister said it was a bit salty, but maybe that's the way I like it. I didn't feel like going to the other stations (Dim Sum, Teppanyaki, Salads, Seafood or Specialty Sushi Rolls) So I just stuck with Nigiri and Sashimi. For the Nigiri, I only had the Eel, which I found REALLY good. Just like one of the reviews, the sushi rice is very delicious. It's sweet-- different from when I had a sushi bowl with sushi rice (I did NOT enjoy the sushi rice at the other restaurant..) This sushi rice is GREAT. Especially with the Eel (: For the Sashimi, It was kind of upsetting that they cut the slices so thinly, And only display a limited amount. The sashimi slices I get from other restaurants are bigger, And so I had to go at least 4 times to kill the plates, to satisfy my hunger. Overall, the sashimi was fresh (at night) and my sister and I enjoyed it. I had some room for dessert, so I went to the cake section. I heard they just opened the past weekend, so they do have things to work on. Like putting out labels, or having the correct labels on the food... I had the orange cake, which I assume was some type of mango mousse cake. It was very good (: My sister and I enjoyed the soft serve vanilla ice cream, because of the lightness of it. We had a pleasant experience, but I think that you shouldn't leave your bags or things at the table you're seated at, unless you're with a bunch of people. And I don't think I would come again during dinner time, Because $17.95 per person is just waay too much. Maybe better to go during lunch time.

First time here and most likely the last. The flan was way overdone; so bitter! Yuck. The ice cream bowls were still dirty. Had to look look thru the stack for a decent one to put my son's ice cream in. Noticed the chocolate fountain ran out of chocolate for about 10 mins then after a fill up the marshmallows to dip with were all gone for another 10 mins. My husband said one of the seafood dishes was way too salty, I forget which one though. Also, the temperature inside is not comfortable at all. Too warm. We were waiting in then they ushered us to the table but it wasn't bussed or cleaned so we just kinda stood there in the way for about 2mins. Awkward!

I did not like it The sushi was not very appetizing and neither was the food. After I finished eating I was full, but I wasn't a happy full. The Mongolian BBQ was just okay too it wasn't the best. The price is decent though.

Tonigt was my first time eating at this restaurant. We tried because its new and my parents want to try it out. I have to say my dining experience there tonight was below AVERAGE. Here are the reasons... 1. Staffs were friendly, but did a lousy job about picking up dirty dishes from our table - three times total, and we have 5+ dishes on the table each time. 2. Food - looks NOTHING like the photos on Yelp! Sashimi, I only eat salmon and tuna. There was not one piece of salmon sashimi the whole night, and the tuna cubes look like they've been sitting on the plate for over an hour untouched. I suppose I could have asked for the salmon sashimi but not sure if I can trust the freshness of it, because on the counter I saw three frozen-looking salmon cut in halves. I thought sashimi needed to be kept in certain coolness/temperature until served, instead they were being thaw sitting on the counter... This place is pretty stingy with the snow crab legs. Desserts weren't that great either. Chocolate fountain was cool, but lasted for an hour and was taken away. Other desserts were either too sweet or chewy... However, for $18.95 I did enjoyed their fruits and string beans, and the dining room was bright and clean :-)

We were steered to Mizuumi by a Fremont local. The menu is mostly Japanese, with a few nods to Chinese and Korean; there's a particularly large selection of sushi and sashimi, decent but not spectacular. The room itself is airy and attractive; the serving counters are well laid out, with no crowding or bottlenecks in the traffic flow.

Had the honey walnut prawns there and it was really dry. Sushi rolls and Sashimi looks like it's been sitting there all day. Went there at 8:45 pm. Beware. Do no go late. They will not bring out anything new. So not worth my money.

The worst buffet ever! We came at 630 pm on a Monday night and the hottest dish was the Mongolian grill while everything else was cold. All the food looks dry and we even saw a worker mixing water into some Chinese dishes. For $18 per person, there are way better options out there.

I was a bit skeptical about giving this place a try because of some of the bad reviews it's gotten. However, my boyfriend & I were willing to give it a try. All buffets are the same to an extent I believe. In this case it was different. A GREAT experience having lunch there. The ambiance was nice and quiet. The sushi options were really good. The other Chinese food options were really good as well. I had a little bit of everything of course! The dessert options were cute and sweet. We will most definitely go back again.

If you are thinking of coming here....don't waste your money. Week night's price is $17.95. We had high expectation after reading some of the reviews here. Indeed the place is clean...it's new, give it a few more months. Waiters clear dishes routinely, but it was a Monday night and the restaurant wasn't packed. There were 3 sections of Japanese food, 1) sushi roll 2) sushi 3) sashimi. The sushi rolls were cold and mediocre tasting. 2) Sushi section had about 4-5 types of sushi and like the rolls they were placed in an X pattern on the plate, which I thought was quite weird. At least the sliced pieces of fish were a little bit thicker than the buffet west of 880. 3) There were 6-7 sashimi options. Octopus & clam (tasteless), thicker pieces of tuna, mackerel, salmon, and a white fish. Tuna and salmon tasted ok, the white fish probably had aged a bit cause I can taste it. The Chinese food section wasn't that good either: 1)Salted crab: were very pasty...probably were dead crabs to begin with 2) steam fish, didn't taste quite right 3) salted shrimp...same as the crab. 4) As for the veggie stir fry, the asparagus was an off colored green, broccoli looked ok, but I didn't try it 5) crawfish, just didn't look appetizing 6) Soups were in three pots set away from everything, they were luke warm, if you're looking for bowls they are over where the guy do the stir fry food. 7) My son said the black bean clam was ok tasting compared to everything else. The Chinese foods were not hot at all, which was quite disappointing. The cold food section has similar thing like the other buffet west of 880. I gave 3 stars for the fresh tasting raw oysters...although 1 did taste kinda weird which I had to spit out. Then there's another cold section with a a few more raw seafood mixed w/different sauces....that's all I can use to describe them....I got some clam w/ something, and abalone lips mixed with something else. They all looked kinda slimy which I should have taken the hint and stayed away, but I didn't. The taste was like something was dead for several days. I had to throw away my first plate cause the other food were touched by those items. Couldn't even wash the taste out of my mouth with lemon or pickled ginger. The dessert table looked nice, but only if you have a sweet tooth....the cakes were really sweet. The fresh fruit area had some fruits but still not as abundant as the other place. No fortune cookies after you've paid your bill....LOL. Definitely not coming back.....maybe I'll come back in a year if they're still in business to see if they've changed.

The food quality here is bad... There isn't much of a food selection to begin with, but whatever they did have wasn't good. Taste, quality, freshness were pretty much not there. Who likes old, fishy sashimi? On top of that, I felt sick to my stomach a couple hours afterwards. So, unless you want to pay for gastrointestinal upset, I wouldn't recommend Mizuumi's at all.

Oh..I knew it was expensive, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. So I went last Saturday night and I was there at 9. They close at ten, so I guess that's why they didn't bother to replenish the food. While I understand that, it's a whole hour. And for $20 bucks a pop, I feel they should spend more on fresh food than the Las Vegas-like chandeliers that some reviewers commented on Desserts cakes were all hard as a rock and stale. Sushi not bad, but I really expected more for the money they charged. I will not come back.

So far came twice and the food is okay. I prefer this buffet over the others in Hayward/San Leandro due to the fact it's way cleaner and bigger. The price is also a couple dollars higher than the other buffets around, but there's more selection here. They have a large variety of seafood; iced snow crab, roasted crab (very dry), clams, oysters, shrimp, crawfish, fish, etc. Sushi is decent. Haven't tried the dim sum. The made to order chow mien station is my bf's favorite since you get to add as much meat you want and they have large pieces of steak. The desserts are nasty lol. The cakes are spongy and dry. They do have a chocolate fountain that kids seem to get a kick out of. There's a fruit bar, but the watermelon was warm and spongy tasting.

My 2 years and 4 years old children went lunch with me yesterday. Called before heading out, said adult price is $8.99 and $4.45 for 4-year-old, free for 2-year-old. We got out late after a late breakfast at home. Got there like 2:10pm. Gave them discount pamphlet, would give me 10% off. Fed the kids first, how can I eat crab when my kids are not yet fed, right? Only ate little bit while I fed. Big child said want to poo-poo, that was half hour taken away in toilet. Kids want dessert, going to get food back and forth. By the time I decided it was my turn to eat crab, 2 hours have passed (4pm). Asked the waiter if I can continue to stay? Said yes only can't have dinner items. Got 4 pieces of crab, kids wanted more dessert, I have to keep them busy while i eat, walked out to get them some. Man in yellow shirt (unlike waiters in black) asked me at dessert stand if staying for dinner, I said no, eat last plate of crab shall leave. Went to take one last plate of another 4 pieces of crab. Was hoping to eat all crab pieces in half hour, so many shelf to crack and meat to dig, how can that be possible??? Plus I am slow eater. We came late so my kids only had ONE piece of marshmallow covered in choc. By this time they saw other kids getting more marshmallow, asked me if can get, I said yes, they went, my hands too dirty to help them. When they are back with me, that same manager walked to me with angry face asked me if staying for dinner?! I said, "I am having this last plate and leaving". Thinking, what the hack? I arrived after 2, now it is 5, and he is not blind can see I have 2 kids to deal with and went toilet earlier. plus we already spoke that I shall have last plate and leave, I was still working on that said plate! What is 2 more marshmallow for the kids?! I got upset, feel humiliated like I was going to steal dinner, I throw away last crab and left. Like most reviewer said, dim sum all dried up, fish on sushi been sitting there since I arrived! And gave such poor attitude?! The salt and pepper crab was my ONLY best item in the buffet, and then I can't even be given the freedom and peace to finish! The bill funnily came up to be $16.50?? How can that be? 8.99 + 4.45 is 13.50, with 10% off, makes it 12, plus taxes 1.20, is 13.20. How it can become over $16? I am not going there again! And I say to all, do NOT go there!!!!!

The price for 2 is less than $50. I was quite surprised it was that much for a sushi/seafood buffet. I love love love the fact they have a variety of sashimi choices compared to just tuna and salmon at most buffet places. They have surf clams and ika!! I read some of the yelpers comments on freshness regarding the avocado and other things. I personally think it may be the time each person goes in will change the freshness, i.e. going when they are about to close = not as fresh when they first open the doors for dinner. My food was fresh enough. The service was good as well :) I like that it is convenient to my location and its not a long wait just for seats compared to other buffets in the bay area. Would I go back? Definitely!

The decor is amazing. But their sushi was not appetizing to me, they should improve this or just call it an Asian buffet. I found my self eating the other options they had available,

  • Linh D.

Quality of the food is ok, but it could of been better. Service was meh. It'll be nice if the servers behind the buffet plate can let the customers know that they offer handrolls or something special if they ask, but instead they just post a small flyer on top of selective glasses and acts shock when they notice someone noticed and ordered something. Handroll was something anyone could make, I didnt even need them to make it for me. All they have to give me was the seaweed. Because what they basically did was just wrap some rice in it with a piece of the fish sashimi. Thats definitely not a traditional way of making a handroll. But whatever I wanted the seaweed anyways.

After reading all the reviews and receiving yet another coupon I will not be using especially after being closed by the Health Dept and being reopened again today. As we all may already know, sushi at sushi buffets just can not compare to the ones we order from restaurants, but with that said, I still enjoyed the variety of choices I had. I particularly enjoyed the sour spicy soup & shark fin soup.

This review is for a party at this place. I did my baby's party here. It was a weekend lunch. Nobody has gotten sick so that's good. I booked this place without trying it first because it is the same owner as World Gourmet in Fremont. And I've been to World Gourmet is it is pretty decent. But after I put down my deposit and told a few friends, they told me, did you know this place is famous for getting people sick? I said no, I didn't know but nothing I can do now. I called the manager Michelle to let her know my concern. She was really nice about it. She assured me the food is fresh and said some reviews that are good has been filtered. Ok. Enough about the existing rating. There's always two sides to a story. The reviews with sick people were during the flu season and we all know this season has plenty of stomach flu going around. So below is my experience. Food: It was clean, fresh and they had a good variety of food selections. And no the sushi was not warm like some review says. The taste is ok. I'm not gonna say it is the best I've ever had but it is pretty decent. Some of my friends say, they would go back again to try dinner menu. Service: It was a little hectic to be honest. My party was about 150 people so that maybe the reason. I had to call the server for one of my friends to get a drink ordered. Oh and since I was entertaining my guests and didn't get to eat much during the party, the manager Michelle offered to give me a to-go box. It was nice of her. I didn't take it though, only because another party was coming in and it was getting a bit crowded. Party service: They can do a better job at keeping track of guests that came. For moonstar buffet, they use wristbands and that tells you the person has been counted. Here, they just count by table and who's left the party. It is hard to keep track. I don't know how they did it. I didn't have time to count myself since I was entertaining my guests and taking care of my 6 months old. Overall: Good experience. Good food. I would go back again for a meal but they really need to fix the headcount issue before I'd want to have a party here again.

I was really looking forward to trying out this new restaurant. My brother suggested as a Singles for Christ outing. Even though my husband and I no longer belong to the group, we still like to hang out with our SFC friends. We met up for a Friday night dinner, so that's $17.95. It's not bad for a buffet. It's sushi with typical Chinese buffet food. There wasn't that much of a variety of sushi for me to pick but it was still good. My brother on the other hand, thought it was okay. Tomi in Concord has a variety of sushi so I was expecting the same for this restaurant. The rest of the food, it was good and not greasy like other buffet places Our friends enjoyed themselves. I didn't get to try out the soups though. There's this one dessert that I thought was red velvet or a strawberry cake but when I tasted it, it tasted way too artificial. I would rather eat the chocolate covered strawberries. Staff was good and they cleared the plates right away so no problems there. The decor was classy, reminds me of the decor at Tomi. Next time, we will take my parents so they can try out the restaurant.

If I could put no star, I would. Came in at around 8pm. They did not replenish any of the food during the time we were there. Everything seemed less than mediocre. At 9 pm they started cleaning, as in busting out the Clorox and what not. We were still eating. They were sweeping everywhere and fixing random things that were broken. They also turned off the TVs in which most of us were watching the sports recap. I would not go here again. As we were leaving, two other people came in and left right away. We over heard the man tell his mom that he could not stand the smell of the windex or whatever cleaning product they were using. Oh by the way they close at 10pm. Why would you not replenish the food or start cleaning when it's not even close to closing time?

Hubby and I came here for new year eve lunch. They charged more on that day. Paid $1.99 for soda and $1.99 for tea when it should be free. The restaurant is pretty clean but it does smell fishy. They should get rid of the smell as it us not pleasant after awhile. The selection of sushi is not bad. Hot food is ok. I used to like their salt and pepper crab and shrimps but not this time. They were not fresh at all. Both seafood meat were mushy. That's the sign of going bad. I stop eating as as I don't want to get food poisoning. Service wise it is just ok. We had better server before. Her name is Joy but I think she left.

Never eat here. It's a busy Sunday. And they finally sit us down. They ended up splitting our group of 12 without even telling us. And by the way we got seated after 1pm. They came to us at 130pm saying we had to leave by 2pm because a party was coming. They never told us that when we were seated. And this place doesn't know how to handle busy times. The ice cream machine was empty the whole time. The sushi was barely refilled. None of the food was ever refilled fast enough. And asking a refill for our drinks sounded weird to them. The buffet lines barely had food on them. So end result is I'd probably make the drive somewhere else that knows how to run a business.

I seriously don't even know what to say about this place, its really gross. I've been to many sushi buffets as well as seafood buffets and this place might have been the worse. The sushi is really bad, however the sashimi looked decent. As far as the seafood portion, it was not a good section at all. The walnut prawns I ate seem to be somewhat cold in frozen!! If you want a good sushi buffet I say go to sushi 85 in mountain view you will not be disappointed! But really don't waste your time coming here.

wow for an Asian buffet I'm impressed! so it was $13.00 pp. sushi was fresh, and I can't say this enough, but their garlic pepper crab was on point, full of crispyness and flavor! a whole bunch of sushi rolls, noodle bar, soup, and shrimp! now for $13 bucks and a whole lot of seafood that's a deal! hope my family decides to have more buffet gatherings here instead of the sucky ones in Milpitas and San Jose !

I came here for my friend's baby party....the place was clean and the buffet this early in the morning was nicely displayed. Everything was clean, so I wasn't too worried. I'm kinda glad that I didn't get food poisoning like other reviewers but then, I didn't eat a lot of raw seafood. I tried the raw mussles and clams. Someone didn't clean them too well cause there was sand in some of them, after that, I just stayed with the hot foods. I tried a little bit of everything, nothing really stood out for me as super fantastic. I liked the sesame mochi balls and the coconut steamed dumplings. I liked the fin soup, it was tasty. The unagi rolls were nice, but the tempura sushi were soggy and not crispy anymore. I spat out what they called coconut mousse...it was horrible...it was super liquidy and runny, no flavor, rather like drinking dishwater. I stuck with jello cause you can't screw up jello, not unless you're super inept in the kitchen. Plenty of parking space, service was slow, but okay. I got my own drinks because I didn't see a server running for drinks. If you're just here for super cheap-o buffet with okay food, then this is the place for you!

  • Matt N.

Overpriced buffet for 3rd class sushi. If you come here for sushi and you're a real sushi lover, this place is not worth it. The Chinese food is okay for a Chinese buffet, but again, not for sushi. They have the wok, which is a plus and a few other good dishes. Nearly $20/person for dinner is not worth it. Use that for a local real sushi Groupon or some other deals, but sushi here sucks. Maybe come for the Chinese food, but please don't come and expect real sushi.

If you like Sushi and rolls this is the place to go for buffet.. i loved the Tuna belly they were serving almost like eating Toro..lol I didnt care much for the Chinese food, was my first time here, we took my dad for fathers day.. the shrimp and muscles were great but they always ran out.. so far one of the best for buffet around the bay area.. most dont have the sashimi choices that this place have.

I had high hopes for this buffet (was hoping it compared to Hokkaido). The sushi was decent. Hubby had the crab legs. I'm not sure if we had a bad batch but they tasted like they had been out for awhile. The dessert bar had quite a bit of selection, unfortunately the cakes were very dry and the chocolate from the chocolate fountain was gritty..I don't know how chocolate could be gritty but theirs was. At the end of the meal our waitress proceeded to ask us and the surrounding tables if we can pay by cash or just give her the tip in cash versus a credit card. That was just plain tacky. 2 stars.

Came on a friday afternoon a little bit after opening, the place is pretty much empty save for two tables. I sort of ignored the rest of the food offered here, since I'm only interested in seafood and sashimi. The crab legs are served cold. The few ones I grabbed are pretty tasty and to my surprise, not salty at all. I helped myself to more of that on my second trip. There were oysters on half shell, but they were covered in ice (my guess is to preserve the freshness for longer). Whoever did the oysters only shucked the shells off, but didn't bother cutting the meat through, so you are left with digging out the meat with a spoon or fork since the thicker round part is still stuck to the bottom shell. Since the oysters were covered in ice (not sitting on top of the ice), they were a little bit too cold to eat for me, luckily I asked for hot water to keep me warm. Also, the oysters were fresh, but not the freshest bunch. The salmon sashimi were fresh, but I couldn't say the same for the hamachi nor tuna. The hamachi looked a little bit off color, while the tuna looked like it was just thawed from frozen stage (not the kind I expect to say when it comes to sashimi level). Some of the sushi were quite ok, I enjoyed the california roll and the spicy california roll. All the rolls with fried items didn't look like they were freshly made for dinner, instead they looked like they were leftovers from lunch. For some reason the tobiko (both the black and the orange ones) were too salty for me. On the plus, they offer ikura (salmon fish roe) and uni (sea urchin), which I haven't seen at other buffets. However... portions for both ikura and uni were so small, that you can see the sushi rice beneath clearly. But hey, compared to not having any at a buffet, I'm happy enough that they serve it. There was a chocolate fountain with marshmallows provided, and I had a bit of fun hanging around that station. I didn't try any of the desserts, but according to the friends I came with, you can ignore all of it. There was this cake that had a piece of film-like sheet on top, probably dried out cream or something, but it was pretty disgusting since it was stuck on the spoon and just refused to came off. It was gross enough to look at, and judging by my friend's facial expression, not tasty at all. As we were leaving, the host informed us that if you "like" them on facebook or post a review on yelp, you can show them the review or your facebook, and get 15% off. It's valid for one person only. So if you are going with a party of two and want 15% off for both people, you gotta provide two reviews or two "likes". It's a pretty good discount, but then again, price is already cheaper compared to other sushi buffets. In conclusion, I'd say this place is pretty average. Some of the stuff were better than others. They could definitely improve on the freshness of the food items. If you are a foodie who wants an extraordinary experience, don't come here; but if you just want an average meal with a variety of selection, I think you can consider this place. Just don't come with high expectations, then you can leave with smaller disappointments, if you get what I'm saying. :P

Just opened today, Friday, September 28th. It is absoluetly stunning inside. Nothing at all like the previous restaurant, Hometown Buffet. Everything was new and clean! The staff was uber friendly and food was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised with the selection of sushi AND cooked food. I was especially pleased with the sashimi...just gimme to good stuff and forget the rice! They even had a teppanyaki bar, where you can make your own fried noodles and/or fried rice. That option is perfect for people, like me, who can't have pre-cooked chinese food because it may have MSG in it. I prefer the teppanyaki style where I know exactly what goes in my food. Parking was a little tough tonight since most of the Safeway lot was closed for resurfacing. The Grand Opening special was 10% off until October 31st! We will definately be back!

Came here with a couple of co-workers for lunch one day. This use to be Hometown Buffet, now transformed into a sushi/chinese buffet. The place is huge with lots of seating. They have all the regular chinese buffet dishes plus sushi. Nothing stood out and the food was just okay. I do not feel compelled to return.

I've been to this place for a 2nd time after a few months, and I have to say their food has improved! Their price is not bad at all compare to other Chinese buffet out there. They have a wide selections of sushi and other seafood items. I would say, its not as bad as other people claim it to be. I will definitely take my family here again.

Wow, worst buffet ever. Got there around 6 pm. The place was practically empty. I wanted to leave but was meeting friends. So had to stay. What a disappointment @ $17. Sashimi was not fresh plus at room temperature. ( be warned). Cooked food was stale and tasteless, especially the dim sum was hard as cardboard. The dessert was not appetizing at all. I highly do not recommend this place. Want to give them no stars.

I agree with most of the reviewers. The foods are NOT fresh especially the seafood. I got a very bad food poisoning. I won't consider of going back nor recommend others to try tis place. This place needs to improve a lot on quality otherwise the business won't last long. Eat at your own risk if you can't agree on most reviewers. I had serious diarrhea for 3 days. I said. "Serious". I was just out of bathroom to wash my hands and I need to go beck in again or I just get back to my bed and in few minutes I had to hurrying get up and head to bathroom or it will be too late. However, that end up hurting my back and I have to see my acupuncturist. This was a first and worse experience I ever had. If only I can give "no" star that this place deserve.

They have a decent selection of sushi and sashimi. Crab legs tend to go really fast. They make decent fish entrees (the filled sole fish was actually pretty tasty). Other than these few things the other food items were pretty subpar. I've probably had better at a Panda Express. Service is okay but could of been better. Place looks really nice inside and kept pretty clean.

this was pretty good for a buffet. I have tried the other buffets in the area. this is my favorite. the decor is pretty and it reminds of vegas for some reason. i liked the tables/chairs setup. it doesnt seem so cramped inside. the waiters cleared our plates pretty fast. sushi was pretty good. they have a nice variety. they have the normal chinese/japanese hot food such as egg roll, crawfish, dim sum, fried rice. we went here for lunch and i think it was about $12 er person. i will definetly come back.

Food not fresh enough, very likely due to lack of customers. Many selections were tasteless, guess the only thing i wad fond of was the pot stickers... And it sorta scared me especially there were many raw fish (sashimi) involved... similar to world gourmet buffet (they are both bad). and from the reviews seems like they have the same owners? Thank god my wife and I didn't get food poisoning...

I went in the late afternoon, I was clueless where the hostess are. Rule number 1 - there should be someone in the front door to welcome and greet the customer. When I came in, I was clueless if they were open or close. Although the decor was OK. The place was newly renovated with great chandeliers, but the decor on the food warmers were kind of gaudy light colors and it looked dark. Yuck!!! Then I looked at their selections - there were a lot of selection of food and cuisines primarily Japanese and Chinese. The food was not really great, and the some of the salads should be served cold not lukewarm or room temperature (For example, seaweed salad, jellyfish salad). I was confused with what I ate because they didn't label their warmers, and they were on top( located above the steel bar). I had to tiptoe to read what they are serving. I hope in the future they have to improve their food, ambience and decor to better quality. I ate with $11.95 lunch. I had the cream puff, tiramasu, coffee crunch cake, almond burnt cake. The cakes were poor in execution - they were not soft and fluffy. They felt like eating sweet cardboard powdered with coffee powder. A lot of dessert selections. And the chocolate fountain was turned off and there was some chocolate on the big bowl, but still served strawberries and chocolate. Although their kitchen staff was attentive on adding more selections. I didn't appreciate this buffet and it is not worth another visit. If you want a sushi buffet that's great in the East Bay, go to Kokyo Sushi Buffet in Hayward, CA. If you want great seafood, sashimi and sushi - go to Hokkaido in Foster City OR Moonstar for great seafood, soups, dimsum. There was so many mistakes and blunders when I came in and was turned off because their quality, service was mediocre. I felt that they were unprepared, and the owner didn't take many opportuntiies to fix the problem. Although he accepted reservations for 200 people. Hopefully, I wish you fixed the problems in your business because this is really unappetizing.

Ate here for the first time during lunch and I have to say it was pretty good. Was disappointed in their sushi selection because every roll looked like a California roll. I mean where's the dragon and lion king rolls at? After all you are a sushi and seafood buffet. I guess they only serve those during dinner time. I really liked their crab, clams and walnut prawns. It was cooked well and very flavorful. I had 3 plates of it. Customer service was good, they refilled our drinks a few times. Food selection is your typical Chinese food selection: fried rice, beef and broccoli, shrimp, fruit section, dessert and etc.. It was about $12 a person for lunch. Atmosphere felt like you were in a buffet at Vegas because everything looked brand new. It was a pretty setting. Overall a great place to come to when you're craving some Chinese food and sushi. Will come back during dinner to see what other rolls they have.

A tad on the pricey side, their crab legs were over steamed and filled with water. A very average Asian buffet, very meh

We went here to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was still early but some of the food were cold. The plates were not properly cleaned. Some of the food were good but it was not worth the money you paid. When I was about to get the desserts, I noticed there were flies(insects) on the cakes. I ended up just getting some ice cream. I called the attention of the waiters and informed them about the insects. After a few minutes they served us desserts including the cake and sang "happy birthday". whaaaaattt?!

I read the review before I go, and I thought I wouldn't be so unlucky to get diarrhea. I have much confidence on my strong digest system. The result was both my husband and I ended up with spending one hour each in the restroom that night. And I kept having diarrhea and bad appetite for two days. So, watch out ...

This place could be summed up in one word..... meh. Its just another typical asian buffet. This place looked like it had potential since it is pretty clean , looks decent , and is spacious. Service was good. The food however, wasn't that great, the sushi was stuffed with rice but the sashimi was surprisingly decent. There was also chinese and a crappy desert section that had nothing to offer. I don't think I will return here as there are better options in nearby cities.

For a sushi and seafood buffet, Mizuumi is just alright. As a sushi buffet, the selections are wide but quality is just average. If you were looking for good sushi, try Kome in Daly City. The sushi here were bite sized and of mediocre quality. But good thing this place is a sushi AND SEAFOOD buffet because the seafood made the experience better. OYSTERS, OYSTERS, OYSTERS! I think I ate like 20 oysters in total because they were that good. There were a large variety of seafood- crawfish, mussels, shrimp, alaskan crab legs, you name it! They had a small variety of fruits but the chocolate fountain and mongolion wok made up for it. In addition, there was the typical chinese fried food, dim sum, soup, and dessert bar with self serve frozen yogurt. A bonus was that they let me use my college student id for a 10% off discount :D Overall, it was an okay experience. I would probably come again but only for the seafood.

The old Hometown Buffet was ugly and awful. Luckily, an Asian buffet opened up. It's similar to Todai. The selection is typical. But the service is pretty good. The place has been nicely redecorated.

The place is nicely decorated with crystal chandeliers, there are many tables with lots of room. The staff was highly attentive to our needs. The food was good, but not excellent. Many shrimp dishes, crab legs, oysters on the half shell, sushi, sashimi, chicken dishes and other fish. A large selection of desserts as well as a chocolate fountain with marshmallows. Didn't get to try everything thing that I wanted to because I ran out of room on my plate and in my stomach. One fish dish was highly salty!! I will return again I am sure.

With sushi in the name, you better owe up to it!! Sushi was dry and dissapointing but I should have expected that from a buffet where it was probably laying around for hours before eaten. The only reason I would return would be for the stirfry chicken and chinese vegetables but for a little over $17 a person, Chinese is too expensive. Stick with a real sushi joint and pay a little more but be happily stuffed!

Food was okay, flavors were decent. The sushi was a bit lacking, the rice was hard and chewy. Not much variety for a buffet. The place is nice and spacious though. Service was good, they took away used plates in a timely manner.

It's a pretty good start for a new business, but i think they should have a little more variety in food for the price you pay. One thing i thought was good was their crab legs; they were super sweet and tasted fresh.

My first impression upon entering the establishment was one of positive outlook. This place definitely has the right look; clean, festively lit, sushi choices as advertised, and a spacious interior. However, once you start dining, the flaws gradually become apparent. Aside from their on demand grill, everything has the appearance of fresh, not the taste. Perhaps this is due to its recent opening and low customer base. The utter lack of variety in its sushi selection calls into question just how many versions of a roll with avocado or cream cheese one can tolerate. Can you savor 3 variations of imitation crab? Even the tradition buffet selection is smaller than usual. Customer service and the busing of tables definitely needs improvement; the staff is minimally trained. Our own waiter never knew when to clear the table; how many other restaurants can you name where the waiter insists that they clear the table after you've already stacked your second helping upon the old plates? In conclusion, I hope the restaurant reads this review and improves. Otherwise, I wouldn't be surprised when it closes. I for one will not be recommending this place to friends for the time being.

I've been to a lot of sushi buffets in the area, and let me tell you, Mizuumi has the largest selection of sushi rolls (mostly riffs on a California roll, but includes rainbow roll, unagi, and dragon rolls), and nigiri. The rolls are freshly made, and there are plenty of them, which is not common for the $12-$15 lunch range. Some of the nigiri was cut relatively thin, but definitely better portions than most other cheap buffet joints. This is a difficult style of food to eat (or make) cheaply, so lots of disappointments here on yelp. I hope the reviews come up, too, because I don't think anyone would disagree, this place is hands-down better than the Hometown Buffet that it replaced. I had a plate full of sushi, a plate of black-bean sauced Clams, crab, a few crawfish, and walnut shrimp, and was pleased with the value and service. Yes, there are better all you can eat sushi places (I particularly care for the sit-down-and-bring-me-one-roll-at-a-time places like Sushi 85 in Mountain View, or Sushi Island in Fremont), but you have to pay for it. If you're after an inexpensive buffet sushi lunch, this is a standout in its price range.

Apparently I've waited just a tad too long to post this review, if this many people have eaten here already. This is undoubtedly the worst buffet I have ever been to. Sushi or otherwise. I went with my mother to try it out because it was still relatively new at the time, and we've seen it a few times in passing, and we got an ad with a coupon for it. But even with a coupon, we would never come back here again. When we first entered, it didn't look too bad. A little empty, but it was kind of to be expected, since it was a Thursday afternoon, I believe. The food area actually looked pretty nice, and the food wasn't looking too bad either. The sushi selection was not bad, but after eating it, it wasn't as great as it had looked. The rice was too hard, and kind of tasted like it was old. I tried to order a hand roll or a specialty roll, since there was a sign taped on the sneeze guard with different types or rolls and such. It took a ridiculously long time for someone to even appear in the sushi making section, and an even longer time to get their attention. A middle-aged looking man walked in and I tried to get his attention, but he just kind of snuck a glance at me and then looked away like he could just avoid me, or like someone else would come and take care of it. But no one did, so I just stood there for nearly 10 minutes trying to call the guy over. None of the staff members were even in the area, and since the cashier counter was kind of far away, I guess they couldn't hear me, even though it was like I said, fairly empty. When the guy finally came over, he didn't seem to speak much English, so I tried my best to order one of the rolls as clearly as possible. He just looked at me like he didn't understand a word I said and wanted me to leave. I pointed to the sign and I think he tried to say that they didn't make those. I kept asking him why they would put that sign up there then, since they weren't anywhere else on the sushi section, but he just kept shaking his head, looking clueless, and basically not getting anywhere. So I gave up and just asked for a salmon sashimi handroll, which took just as long to order. Again, he shook his head looking lost and just not wanting to do anything, but this time I guess he relented. Maybe he was new or something, since he started just wandering around the area picking up handfuls of rice and things before starting to make the handroll. It ended up having two small pieces of salmon sashimi and wayyyy too much rice. I finally get back to our booth with it, and I immediately notice a look on my mother's face. She had gotten the fried crab, but she was sniffing it. She handed a piece over and told me to smell it, saying that it had a chemical-like scent. I complied, and there was a section of the crab that smelled really strongly of something like ammonia? It really was a sharp stingy chemical smell, and after cracking open a few more pieces, we noted that they all smelled like that. Thank goodness we hadn't eaten any of it, but we grew wary of their seafood at this point. That's the bulk of our problems at this place, but it wasn't the only things. The sesame balls weren't cooked all the way through, and some of the mochi-like insides of it were still very raw and doughy. My mother told our waiter about it, who did not look like he wanted to be there at all, but he didn't do anything about it, just tossed it out when he thought we weren't looking and returned to collecting dishes, so she took it to one of the cashier ladies who looked like the manager or someone with some authority because of her different clothing or something like that, and while she did take it to the back, but she never returned with an apology or even an explanation. So basically this place has bad food and very bad service. I would never go back here again. I wish there were a no-star option because that's what it deserves.

My family hosted a baptism lunch there for a very large group. Because we stayed there till 5:15, they charged for dinner rates versus lunch rates. Everyone stopped eating at 5 because we didn't want to pay for dinner. Because my family asked for the check at 5:15, family had to pay the dinner price. They made a lot of money from beer and sake, can't believe they have such bad business ethics and will stoop that low to make extra money. What a rip, I will never go there again and highly recommend you think twice before entertaining a party there!

Sushi isn't good, probably because it's a buffet. The salted crab was fine so I kept eating this. I also got food from the mongolian stir fry area ,and this is probably the best, which isn't saying much. Desserts were horrible. Cakes have no taste. Egg custard bun was bland.

I am a huge fan of Sushi and this restaurants has alot of options. I came here with my girlfriend for dinner not expecting anything big as this use to be Hometown Buffet. Was astonished on the interior being so different from teh old Hometown layout that I was accustomed to growing up on the Peninsula and this was the nearest Buffet after church. This restaurant decor is great, from a sushi island in the middle, dessert counter, and of course your regular Asian Buffet menu items to the seafood array of choices plus the sound system with ENGLISH music and not your typical elevator music, to the mood lighting throughout the restaurant. The price was on the regular price for a buffet in the area and service was great, our waitress was on the ball with refill of drinks to cleaning our table when we get up for seconds, third, fourth and fifth plates lol. Also a big plus to me is the uniforms for the staff where they wear all black here similar to Bartenders at other restaurants, different from your regular black and white attire at other Asian Buffets, I guess it makes the mood more hip and fun to eat? I dont know maybe Im just wierd. lol, Great Place!

Ate there with family for dinner on Sunday, October 14, for $18.95 per adult. A new restaurant. Lots of sushi, but not a tremendous variety. Sushi was OK, but nothing special tastewise. I tried other dishes, too. Beef with broccoli did not have much beef in it. Salmon looked appealing but turned out to be very dry and almost tasteless. Variety of sweets and fruits available for dessert. Watermelon was good for cleansing palette after the main meal. Vanilla and chocolate yogurt machine took a while to dispense a little bit of yogurt -- must have been running low. Eating area was clean, and waiters took away used plates quickly. Men's bathroom was quite messy.

Came here on a weeknight and there wasn't that many people. They do not offer lots of variety of sushi and their chinese food is not that ok. I saw soft shell crab like inside the sushi island, but the sushi chef said it's only weekend only. Their chocolate fondue was shut off by 8pm something when the store was not close yet. The strawberry next to the fondue are WHITE.....if u wanna try white strawberry come here. This place is pretty sucks and there is never a wait. The dessert are terrible. Plus all people in our party got a diarrhea afterward.....u could tell how good this place is =(

The fondu fountain stopped working a few times and when it did it did not look very appealing. The waiter service was good and none of the used plates sat on the table for very long. The beef and chicken were over cooked. The rice and sushi was mushy.

My wife and I wanted a quick dinner so we thought a buffet would be a good idea. I really wish we took the time to look at yelp first. The seating areas are dirty. You are only going to eat half of your food because about half of the dishes you'll try are gonna taste funky. And to Top it off your going to be charge $18 per person. Didn't even think to ask what the price per person was considering the look of the place. I told the cashier that the price is ridiculous considering the quality of the food. His words: "You can eat somewhere else next time if you can't afford the meal." I'll definitely take his advice. For the same price you can get much better food in a much nicer establishment.

The food is nasty. Food Made with no effort.. They can learn from kyoko sushi buffet in hayward. So not worth the price. Might as well close this buffet and bring back home town buffet.

Eh, its ok. Not as bad as they reviews make it out to be, but I have nothing to compare it to either. I only went, because my dad had a coupon and he's all things "buffet", he was treating, I like seafood/sushi so why not. I went in with an open mind, and things turned out well. Quick run down of what I had.... nigiri tuna, salmon, white tuna and mackerel. I picked those because they were just put out, I knew they were fresh and not picked over. They oysters were a flop....there were about 6 shells floating in sauce, the oysters had been picked. They were the size of your palm so I wasnt getting those anyways... The mussels were good, baked & cold. Salt pepper shrimp, can't mess that up....the crab eh...don't think it was the freshest, but......yeah.

TL;DR?? Small-scale Chinese/Japanese buffet around the local East Bay area. Look for COUPONS! My friends and I used a $8.99 coupon for dinner time and boy were we glad! Usual prices range $16-$18 which is not worth it imho due to quality and quantity. Location, Ambiance, Service: B Food Quality: B- (more like 2.5 stars overall) Prices: B- (for usual prices) N.B.: The poor quality of sushi is not even worth mentioning...This is basically a Chinese/Asian foods buffet. My super Asian girl friend mentioned she had a coupon to this restaurant a while ago. Intrigued, my friends and I went here for dinner today. It is located on Decoto Road which isn't too far from Hayward (approximately 15 minutes drive on Mission Blvd from CSUEB campus). The restaurant was easy to spot and we parked close by. Walking inside, we were not greeted or acknowledged for at least five minutes. Mind you, that we were the only ones waiting... Finally we flagged down a hostess to seat us, ordered our drinks, and started going at it! The structure of the buffet offerings is very convenient and easy to navigate. The main sushi counter/preparation station is enclosed by complete square borders of Chinese/Asian foods and sushi. Besides the main buffet square, there were 1- 2 stand-alone island kitchens with more Chinese foods and a row of single-line counter which had the Mongolian-style noodles, BBQ foods, soups, and desserts. Overall, I made about 2 - 3 trips to evaluate all the food choices carefully. I ended up trying various things but my recommendations are... Walnut Shrimp, Fin Soup, Salt & Pepper Shrimp, and Chili Mussels. I am extremely picky about my Walnut Shrimp (like I only order them at authentic Chinese restaurants) but this is the FIRST TIME, I have remotely enjoyed eating them at a buffet nonetheless. Kudos! However I was not fond of the Salt & Pepper Crab....Yes I visited on a Tuesday night when the restaurant was a 1/4th filled but you can taste that the seafood was not very fresh because they were not cycling it out continually. Seafood that is NOT fresh breaks my heart. Service-wise, the server came to check on us occasionally and cleaned up our dishes in a timely manner. Kudos for refilling our waters continually. Hence the 3 stars because service was great! It was also someone's birthday and their server played the Birthday song over the intercom while banging on a GONG haha!

With coupon, we visited this restaurant. Comparing with other seafood buffet, I rate this 3 stars. Steamed fish, fried shrimp, and many deserts are delicious. Fish sushi seems not that fresh.

Eh. It wasn't my cup of coffee. I came here with a group of 70 people for my grandmas event and my experience was blah. For starters, the place is clean and tidy. Food is organized into sections, etc. As I walked around the aisle, the sushi section was the largest part. They weren't even good. The rice is dry and tough, the toppings weren't fresh, and more! Wow what a bad experience with sushi here. I mean I understand it's a buffet but damn, this was bad. The main courses weren't even good. Just a simple section/table of fried rice, bland chow mien, soggy fries, over sauced and undercooked meats and veggies, etc. etc. Gross. I think the best part was the chocolate fountain because their chocolate was delicious. I need to know that chocolate brand for sure because it hardens and it just tastes so milky. Great marshmallows with the chocolate. The dessert section is a B- for an Asian buffet too. I kinda regret ignoring the Mongolian bbq section because I definitely should've had more grilled shrimp. Damnit lol.

Well... I guess I should've known what I was getting into. In the bay area, the typical result when seeing the words "sushi" and "buffet" together is a most disappointing one. It's like when you see the words "tax" and "evasion" in a letter in the mail. Sure, seems like a good idea on the onset. But, you end up disappointed... with that particular life choice aka "Wesley Sniping it". If you're coming here expecting a good experience... prepare send a text message to your best friend, stating "SMH *sushi emoticon* *thumbs down emoticon* *kissey face emoticon?*" First off, I will say that the restaurant in general is pretty clean. You don't quite get that weird nasty feeling like you usually do at sushi/asian food buffets. This is on the outside, eating areas, buffet stations, and what not. However, the bathroom looked like a disaster area. Paper towels and (for some odd reason) toilet seat covers clogged up in the urinal stalls. General stank in the restrooms. Got out of there as quickly as possible. Back to the restaurant itself. Another upside that I will mention is the fact that you can stuff your face full of snow crab legs and oysters, all night, to your hearts content. That being said, there doesn't seem to be all that big of a selection in terms of the hot food. A few chinese food items, seasoned fries, a few desserts, and that's about all. There is a small selection of the aforementioned sushi, but it's about as good as what you would get at Safeway. I was excited when I saw they had Lion Kings... but these were more... I dunno... Scar? The Hyenas? Yeah, these weren't Lion Kings at all. The sushi was disappointing. Lastly was the service. It was not up to par at all. Waiters never came by to take our drink orders. Bah. Also, when I told them that there were no more bowls or dishes for the soy sauce, they just said more would come out... eventually. So much for customer service. I understand that things can and will get busy, but I've been my share of asian buffets and at least everything is kept well stocked and my drink order is taken right as I'm sitting down. I tried my best to like this place due to the initial clean presentation, but I cannot recommend this place. Nor will I be returning for any particular reason. Sorry guys. A lot of improvement is needed.

So im walking in this place with my husband thinkig WOW it looks so beautiful in here lots of room and oooooh look a chocolate fountain... THEN we got our plate of food and it was DISCUSSTING. Don't know where to begin. The food doesn't taste very good. Some of the servers will ignore you when you ask for water. I wouldn't recommend you to come here unless you really have to. Go to newark buffet instead

Not too impressed with the buffet selection. Many of the dishes are bland. The oysters were slimy and had sand. The fried rice was even bland and not tasty (how do you mess that up?). Service was not so great either. Sushi was edible but not fresh if you eat there. I usually order to go which is expensive but they make it fresh if you do it that way.

  • Alegria C.

Horrible. Service was not great. Asked for a round of waters that never came and our dirty plates stacked on the table without anyone coming by to get them. Sushi looked decent, but sashimi did not look appetizing. I tried to stay away from most raw sushi and only ate a couple pieces and still ended up with food poisoning. Writing this while I continue to writhe from the stomach pain. Shouldve listened and avoided the sushi all together (which is pretty pathetic for a sushi buffet). Majority of the fried things I had were even pretty soggy and lukewarm at best. Avoid at all costs.

    (1)
  • Annie C.

I've came here only two times, and the results were just the same. I'd say the food is decent enough, but the sushi doesn't taste fresh. Although, this was expected since it's a buffet. The staff were majorly nice, but one lady was just a fucking idiot. Like, they were moving tables for a bigger party, and literally, dumped the table's contents onto my table, and never came back for them. Honestly, since when is that ever alright?? If it's crowded with people, don't be fooled that the place is great. It's only because they send cheap ass deals.

This was one of the closest buffets that offered a free meal if it was your birthday. My frugal Chinese parents love taking advantage of that every year, so we ended up coming here for my brother's birthday on a Monday night. The place is quite large and spacious but there isn't a huge selection when it comes to food. I didn't come here with super high expectations so food wise, I'd have given it 2 stars. The food was average and sushi was decent, at least it didn't taste like freezer. But I went home with food poisoning and stomach pains for the next two days! And I generally have a pretty good tolerance even for the weirdest types of food. Never coming here again.

Came here for lunch a few days ago. Wasn't really impressed with their selection of food. As I walked around I noticed that they had double trays of everything on different parts of the buffet. On one end they had clams and further down they had another tray of clams. They could have more selection if they added new foods instead of having doubles. The servers were attentive which is always good. Nothing here has anything that would make me want to return. I might give it another try in the near future.

California people are so harsh... Lol I loved this place and the variety. When you make 100s of foods all at the same time it can't be perfect... If you only want sushi, dim sum, pho, Korean, I can recommend many other better places. If you want a lot of food and asian variety. It's perfect.

I love the variety of food here, and it's actually fresh! I've been to other Asian buffets and it looks like the foods been sitting there for a while. I have came on both lunch and dinner services, good luck not trying to get bumped into during the dinner service cause it's packed! But what do you expect from a place that offers fresh snow crab and oysters? They have a big selection on desserts, especially during dinner services because they turn on that chocolate fountain. To those complaining about the price, they send coupons in the mail all the time! The coupons even sometimes print on the back of receipts at Lucky's. I always get happy when I get coupons in the mail because that means I'm heading down to Mizuumi! I love this place so much! Now I'm craving it!

I've been here for family events of both sorrow and joy, and it seems to be a good enough place for a large group to just partake in the aspect of togetherness, buffet-style. The sushi is surprisingly fresh to the point where my son actually tried and liked the nigiri laid out. And we've been here several times, and the level of freshness is consistently the case. It's why I'm at a loss for more words for this review, because it was a buffet place of all places that made my teenage son venture further into the culinary world.

This place is bad. Not Michael Jackson bad, but just plain bad. Don't be fooled by the exterior. The restaurant might look big from the outside, but the selection is very limited and even so, the food is subpar and bland. To put it bluntly, everything here looks and is......unappetizing. From the crudely made sushi and the "fried rice" that looks more like plain rice, nothing here was really to my liking. I felt like I had to force myself to eat the food, to avoid offending the family friend who brought me here. That's how bad my experience here was.... I would not recommend this place and I highly doubt I'll be back again, unless I'm dragged here again. If you are looking for a decent sushi buffet, I would recommend Tomi's sushi buffet instead.

My family had a baby shower party of 50 heads and came here because its NOT REALLY that bad and tips, soda and decorations are included. But turns out they charged us a reservation of 70 head even tho we only had 50. The reason why is because we chose to sit in a "area" that is for 70+people. The hell. They didn't even tell us theres a different price for different seating areas. They had a "contract" about reservations that we signed but didn't mention "seating areas". We paid 400 dollars more and that makes it 29 dollar per person. I could go to kome or tomi or get ayce shabu shabu for everyone. Pretty shady man. Pretty shady Service was okay i guess. Food stopped coming out between 8-9. It would had been such a joyful party but this buffet restaurant pissed off 50 ppl.

Ever had that time where an ad seemed really worth trying? When I first got an ad in the mail saying that a grand opening sushi buffet was doing a buy one get one free promotion, I hurried with a friend to try out the place, I have to admit, it was pretty darn good. Two month later, we decided to go back. When we walked in, I was very shocked. The number of customers dropped tremendously. At first, I thought it was just because of the cold weather. When we went to get out food, I immediately knew why there were no more customers. The quality of the food, compared to two months earlier, was horrible! The rate of sushi coming out was extremely slow. The Chinese food they had there was also a lot worst than before. Literally, all the noodles looked like they came out of the freezer to be defrosted. They also took away the chocolate fountain, as an alternate, they PRE MADE the chocolate marshmallows and put them on a plate for customers to eat. But after 30 seconds of being placed out, it was stuck to the plate. Other than that, it was okay. Not recommended tho! With the price you pay (14.99 for an adult)you can eat at a better buffet.

If you ever wanted to know what sewer taste like, please tried their stir fried clams. If that's not enough, it also smells like sewer the second you walk in. I can't eat anything here, I rather pay the fee for wasting food than eat anything here. Not sure how sanitary this place is.

Me and my family came here yesterday and I already knew the reputation of this eating establishment from fellow yelpers but I didn't want to say anything bad because I haven't tried this place and second: my sister insist of paying the whole meal. So we all went in, 7 adults + 2 kids younger than 10 years of age. The food selection was MEH...there are food trays that were has some food 1 or 2 and some were just plain empty. I thought to myself " Buffet restaurants should ALWAYS be full of food" but this place begs to differ so my fellow yelpers were right all along about this place: This is CHINESED cheap assed version of what a Japanese Buffet Restaurant SHOULD BE which means very BAD customer service, Very measly portions served and the personnel is saying, "If you don't like it here, go somewhere else and we don't care what you have to say". The food is decent I'll give them that but that doesn't matter because it's so miserly served meaning that they'll only cook more if the old cooked food is gone. This is not how you run a buffet restaurant the last time I have checked and apparently the people running this place missed on "Buffet restaurants and how you should run them 101 class" and they apparently failed it too. To be honest? I would spend my hard earned money SOMEWHERE ELSE like Kokyo sushi buffet and Newark Buffet both of which are a ton better than this place because this place is a dump compared to those 2. I would not recommend this place to anyone even to my enemies so YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I think is a choose, there has so many foods we can eat, and the fruit is so sweet, with low price

The service here is sub par. My family and I were seated and were asked what we would like to drink. We ordered, and went to help ourselves to our first plate of food. Ate, got our second plate. STILL NO DRINKS! Then a larger party comes in, and the servers immediately get their drinks for the group. They forgot about me and my family!!! It took me a couple minutes to get server's attention, but they finally brought us over our drinks.

Sorry ladies n gentlemen, if you looking for a decent **DECENT** buffet, this is not the place. Sashimi was not fresh and also the oyster too. I also have food poisoning right after I ate from here. I will never recommend this place to nobody and will never fine this place a try again. Service was good though but food nope.

I came here for lunch after a funeral with my family. When you first walk in the place looked pretty big but empty at the same time. The food was not that good to begin with. I tried the noodles that they make where you pick your own vegetables, meat, and so on and they cook it right in front of you and it was really really salty after taking one bite. The dim sum was gross and you can tell it was sitting there for a long time. The dessert was very limited!! Almost like they forgot to make dessert. I definitely will not be coming here anytime soon.

I usually don't like to write bad reviews, but this one deserves it. Generally speaking it's a good place for lunch/dinner and has reasonable prices. But over the last few times I've been there, the buffet plates all around the restaurant were very empty. I don't think they have the capacity or planning to serve the restaurant at peak times. I took a picture which I also posted on Yelp and you can see what I'm talking about. All dish plates were empty. I did talk to the manager and many other employees requesting for dishes to be brought from the kitchen and they really didn't listen. It took about 15 minutes of me bothering them for them to start filling up the buffet with newly cooked food. For me, it was a really bad experience as you're paying a price expecting a service and they just don't deliver. Waiting 15 minutes in between trips to the buffet to get more food is really unreasonable. I would suggest to management better planning as if they keep on performing with this terrible service, they will just go out of business. This would not be ideal, as generally speaking their food is good and although this hasn't happened before, it has been the case for the last 2 times I visited the restaurant.

So I think I've concluded that this place basically makes their money by serving terrible disgusting food so that you can't finish it all- and have to pay the 50% for "wasted leftovers." If you're wondering why everyone rates this place so bad it's honestly because it REALLY is. I hate writing bad reviews, but if this means saving someone's life, then let me just get started! Don't even bother calling for a large party expecting to be seated together. Even when you have a reso, and even though this place is pretty spacious- they'll still manage to split your group up somehow. Second, the bathroom is kind of gross. Almost all the stalls were out of toilet seat covers, there was a random toilet cleaner just laying around?!! And it had the weirdest most unbearable smell to it. The food. Lawd the food. Every time I came back to try something else I hated the place more and more. I finally said no more after I found a hair in my mushroom chicken. Everything was either dry as hell, nasty as hell, or just straight up hell. Service was on the same wavelength as well :( They're very unfriendly looking, and I get the feeling no one even washes their hands after they use the bathroom. No idea why this place still even exists. I know it's a sushi buffet but damn- so not worth it!

Food was mediocre. Sushi didn't taste fresh at all. Despite that...2-stars for not giving me an upset stomach. 1 star for very prompt and courteous service by the servers.

I normally don't give bad reviews but since I felt like the price of this buffet is way to expensive for the food quality. The food is not fresh at all and most of it had a bad taste. I'm giving it 1 star because of the good customer service and another star for the restaurants TV.

Came here at 8pm on a Sunday night, no wait, got seated immediately. Food: what food? The trays were allll empty! You have to ask them to make the food because they don't want to "waste" food. I thought this place closes at 10pm?! Why don't you have food displayed! Service: not too shabby, the guy we had was fast with taking our dishes away. At one point he asked the sushi chefs to make some rolls for us. Cleanliness: there is no such thing as "clean" at this place. Price: $21.99 adult dinner, not worth it considering the listed above comments. Never coming back.

This place has a lot of variety: sushi, made to order hand rolls, hot foods (mostly Chinese style), cold foods and desserts. Food: it's an asian buffet so i would recommend not having high expectations. however, it is pretty good compared to other asian buffets. there's a nice selection of food, and it tastes pretty good. Service: great! we always get seated in the same section and served by the same nice waiter. he's very friendly and attentive. There are coupons out there somewhere. My friend gave me a few.
